This 1995 contribution from Larry Rymal of T.E.M.U.G. East Texas is a set of 16 JPEG screen shots from the Atari Jaguar version of Alien VS. Predator, captured the year before Fox Interactive's later Mac AVP release. The shots focus on the Queen's Chamber, an area many players never reach.
Subject
The selection showcases the Queen's eggs, facehuggers, the climactic battle with the Queen, her death, and a desperate attempt to flee her ship.
Capture Method
Rymal fed Jaguar video into a Power Macintosh 7500 and used Apple Video Player's freeze-frame to grab stills, then converted them to JPEG at 50 percent quality, roughly 33K each.
Packaging
The 16 JPEGs were collected in a folder and further compressed with StuffIt Lite. A QuickTime movie version was attempted but proved too large to send over the net.
Use
Unpack with StuffIt Expander and view with GIFConverter, JPEGView, or any JPEG-capable utility. Distributed as alien-vs-predator-screens.hqx in the Info-Mac game/com directory.
