This is the official Domark Software patch that takes Out of the Sun from version 1.1 to 1.1.1, posted by Domark (domarkus@netcom.com) on November 16, 1994. It is a narrow bug-fix update aimed at one specific group of players, and has no effect on anyone else's installation.
Who needs this update
The patch is only relevant to owners of the floppy disk edition of Out of the Sun. CD-ROM customers can skip it entirely; Domark's own release note states it "will not affect you at all" if you have the CD version.
What it fixes
The 1.1 floppy build had a small but annoying defect: mission orders failed to appear on the plane selection screen, leaving floppy players to fly sorties without their briefing text in front of them. The 1.1.1 update restores the orders display so the floppy version matches the CD's behavior.
Out of the Sun
Out of the Sun is Domark's World War II Pacific-theater flight simulator for the Macintosh, casting the player as a US Navy pilot flying carrier-launched missions against Japanese forces. It shipped in both floppy and CD-ROM editions in 1994.
Installation
The archive is a BinHex-encoded updater bundle. Decode with BinHex 4.0 or StuffIt Expander, then run the updater against an installed copy of Out of the Sun 1.1.
