Marathon Shooting Sounds is a fan-authored audio modification for Bungie's Marathon, the seminal Macintosh first-person shooter. The pack swaps the game's default weapon-fire samples for an alternative set of shooting effects, refreshing the auditory feel of the campaign without touching maps, scripts, or graphics.
What It Is
A sound resource bundle for Marathon, delivered in the BinHex or StuffIt envelope typical of 1990s Mac shareware.
Installation
Place the supplied sound file alongside Marathon's data files (or merge it via a sound-utility) and the engine reads the new weapon samples in place of the originals at launch.
Compatibility
Designed for the original Marathon on classic Mac OS; runs cleanly on period hardware and under SheepShaver or Basilisk II emulation.
For Whom
A small, focused tweak for Marathon fans who want their Pfhor-blasting to sound a little different on the next playthrough.
