Zounds 1.0.1 is a Shakespearean Insult Generator released as freeware by an author posting from a yahoo.com address ("cafe mocha"), with versions for both PalmOS 2.x+ and 68k Mac OS. The Mac build runs as a standalone double-clickable application that mimics a small simulated Palm Pilot screen.
About the Title
The name riffs on the archaic oath "By Christ's Wounds." The author describes Zounds as their first freeware or shareware release, written in spare time around a day job as a working developer.
Platforms in the Bundle
The archive contains the .prc Palm OS payload alongside Mac files. Palm users HotSync the .prc; Mac users launch the Zounds application directly. Both 68k and PowerPC Macs are supported.
Distribution Terms
The author retains all rights but explicitly permits free redistribution provided no fee is charged. The original homepage was hosted at geocities.com/surftao/zounds/ and the upload was scanned with Norton AntiVirus before submission.
