Back Slide 12 Jv is a Classic Macintosh shareware sliding-tile puzzle, distributed as a StuffIt archive (back-slide-12.sit) and preserved in vintage Mac shareware collections including the Internet Archive's Vintage Apple Macintosh Shareware Games set and the Macintosh Garden. The 12 in the name refers to its release version.
Gameplay
Like other entries in the long sliding-puzzle tradition, Back Slide presents a grid of tiles with one empty cell, asking the player to slide adjacent tiles into the gap to reconstruct an image or numeric sequence. The Mac version uses standard Toolbox windows and menu commands.
Variants and version
Multiple builds of Back Slide circulated on Mac shareware sites; this is the 1.2 release tagged Jv by its author. The archive preserves the original ReadMe with registration details.
Preservation
Back Slide is part of the Vintage Apple Macintosh Shareware Games Collection B mirrored at the Internet Archive, alongside hundreds of similarly small one-author Mac titles from the 1990s.
