Head Office is a Macintosh fantasy and pool baseball application that lets the user run a Rotisserie-style fantasy league or a simpler office baseball pool from a single Mac front-end. Written by Mel Patrick of Intergate (British Columbia), it covers the full season-management workflow from drafting through trades, injuries, and weekly stat updates.
About the program
The submission casts Head Office as an effort to deliver "maximum enjoyment with a minimum of effort" for league commissioners. Built-in tools handle free-agent lists, trades, reserving and waiving players, injury reserve, and reactivation, all through a custom user interface designed for the volume of roster operations a Rotisserie season generates.
Stat updates and Quick Stats
The author identifies stat entry as the heaviest time sink in any fantasy-baseball package and addresses it directly: Head Office can either accept manual entry or ingest preformatted Quick Stats baseball files. Once a weekly Quick Stats file is downloaded from the Quick Stats BBS or via the Internet, a full week of league stats can be applied in minutes.
System requirements
The README lists the requirements as "any Macintosh using System 7" plus a printer for league reports. A modem and an external Quick Stats subscription are listed as optional, needed only if the commissioner wants automated stat downloads rather than typing scores in by hand.
