Fantasy Quest (Info-Mac slug fantquest-game) is a graphics, sound, and text adventure for Classic Mac, posted to Info-Mac by tjstone@wkpowerlink.com. It bundles many places to explore and puzzles to solve in the lineage of illustrated text adventures that were a staple of small-Mac shareware in the early 1990s.
What it is
The author's own Info-Mac description calls it a graphics, sound, and text adventure filled with many places to explore and puzzles to solve, placing it firmly in the illustrated parser-adventure tradition rather than pure interactive fiction.
Hardware requirements
Fantasy Quest will run on the Mac Classic, Plus, SE, II, SI, or IIci with 1 MB of memory under System 6 or 7, making it compatible with even the smallest 68k machines of the era.
32-bit addressing caveat
On a IIci and similar machines, 32-bit addressing must be turned off for the game to run. The author specifically directs players to the Memory control panel and instructs them to set 32-bit addressing to off before launching.
Distribution
The Info-Mac upload also notes that this shareware game may be included on commercially available CD-ROM compilations of the Info-Mac archives.
