About

Lotto Sorcerer is a long-running lottery-prediction shareware program from Satori Publishing of Michigan City, Indiana, first released in 1989 and still actively maintained -- the Info-Mac archive carries the 3.0.2 Mac OS X build as lotto-sorcerer-302.hqx. It uses statistical analysis and a neural-network engine to flag patterns in past lottery draws and recommend candidate number sets.

What it does

The application ingests a history of past drawings for any of several hundred lotteries and runs them through statistical and AI analyses, looking for weighted patterns in which numbers have appeared, in what positions, and in what combinations. It then surfaces detailed reports and suggested number sets aligned with the model's assessment of "most effective winning strategies." The program supports lotteries that draw four to six numbers from pools of twenty to eighty, including bonus-ball formats.

Engine and technical notes

Modern versions ship a neural-network engine with built-in support for more than five hundred lotteries across more than fifty countries; the 3.0.2 Mac OS X build archived here predates that scope but uses the same underlying analysis approach. The Mac OS X release requires an 800x600 monitor or larger and is distributed as a $16.95 shareware download.

Development and release

Satori Publishing was founded in 1987 to publish software for both Windows and Macintosh, and Lotto Sorcerer has been the company's flagship product since 1989. The Info-Mac copy points back to the official site at satoripublishing.com/LS/; later versions reached 9.x and continued to be maintained well into the 2010s.

Reception and legacy

The product sits in a contested category -- third-party reviewers at sites such as LottoExposed have repeatedly questioned whether any software can meaningfully predict random lottery draws -- but Lotto Sorcerer's commercial longevity and continual revision make it one of the more enduring examples of the late-1980s/1990s wave of "lottery wheeling" shareware on the Mac.
