Super Ships II is a Classic Mac arena-combat game in which up to eight spaceships battle until only one remains. The release ships with a built-in editor for designing additional ship classes with their own statistics and special attacks, and a single match can be played with zero, one, or two human participants.
Gameplay
Matches drop a roster of ships into a shared playfield where the goal is straightforward: be the last ship standing. Mixing human players with AI-controlled opponents enables solo practice, head-to-head duels, and free-for-alls watched as a demo with no human pilots at all.
Ship editor
The bundled editor lets players define new ship classes by adjusting performance statistics and assigning special attacks. Custom rosters can dramatically shift balance, supporting both finely tuned competitive sets and chaotic experimental designs.
Compatibility
Super Ships II is distributed as a fat binary that runs on both 68k Macintoshes and PowerPC systems, broadening its reach across the late Classic Mac OS hardware lineup.
Era
The title belongs to the wave of small Mac arcade and arena games that thrived as shareware in the late 1990s, when single-developer projects could ship polished multiplayer experiences directly to user groups and archives.
