Nuts And Bolts is a 1998 Macintosh shareware action game by Ronan Dowling, released under his BigFishLittleFish Software label. You control a friendly, roller-skating robot whose job is to roam each level collecting every nut and bolt in sight while stomping the small blue creatures scuttling underfoot.
Gameplay
Each stage is a self-contained playfield strewn with hardware to scoop up and hostile critters to flatten. Bonus pickups reward thorough play, and the cartoon presentation keeps the tone light and arcade-like rather than competitive.
System requirements
The game wants a 68030 or faster Macintosh, a 256-color display at 640x480, about 2.5 MB of free RAM, and System 7 or later. It runs cleanly under classic Mac OS up through Mac OS 9.
Distribution
Nuts And Bolts was distributed as shareware via Info-Mac and the BigFishLittleFish Software web page. The author granted permission for Info-Mac CD-ROM compilations.
