Homer's Cyber Rampage is a 1996 Simpsons-themed arcade game by Cyber Cheese Software, built with the Sprite Animation Toolkit for 68k Macs running System 7. Players guide Homer Simpson around the screen to collect television sets while dodging police, devils, Mr. Burns and other obstacles.
Gameplay
The action is straightforward arcade collect-and-evade: grab as many TVs as possible while staying clear of a rotating cast of antagonists drawn from The Simpsons supporting cast.
Technology
The game was built on Ingemar Ragnemalm's Sprite Animation Toolkit, a popular library for Mac arcade-style hobbyist games of the period.
System Requirements
Targets 68k Macintosh hardware running System 7.0 through 7.6. The download weighs in at a compact 286 KB, typical of mid-1990s Mac shareware.
Fan Tribute
Like much Mac shareware of the era, the title is an unlicensed fan creation rather than an official Simpsons product.
