Grizzly 1.3.1 Preview is a small download from Adam Winiecki of Judah Software that bundles three PICT screenshots from the full shareware release of Grizzly, a one-on-one fighting game starring 3D-rendered teddy bears. It serves as a quick visual sampler for anyone weighing whether to grab the 3 MB main archive.
What's in the package
Three PICT files lifted directly from the game, packaged so they open cleanly in any classic Mac picture viewer. There is no executable code in the preview - it is purely promotional artwork from Grizzly's combat screens.
About the parent game
Grizzly itself is a four-character combat game with dozens of moves per fighter and stages rendered in KPT Bryce. Version 1.3.1 added a scaling AI opponent, monitor-size compatibility from 12" to 19", and a HYPER/Normal frame-rate toggle for slower Macs.
Author
Adam Winiecki, working as Judah Software, wrote and posted both the preview and the full Grizzly release to Info-Mac in 1995, distributing them as BinHex archives.
Why a separate preview
At ~260 KB the preview was a far easier download than the 3 MB main archive over a 1995 modem - a common shareware tactic for showing off graphics before asking a player to commit to the full file.
This file is part of the MacTrove archive. See the Thank You page for the upstream mirrors we rely on. It is BinHex encoded — use The Unarchiver to decode it.
