Slide Objects is a Public Domain HyperCard 2.x stack by Ben Lawson (benl@resunix.ri.sickkids.on.ca) that supplies a HyperTalk function called slide(). The function mimics sliding controls, such as the Sound control panel's volume slider, using ordinary HyperCard buttons or fields as the moving element.
What it provides
A reusable slide() handler that can be dropped into any HyperCard stack to add draggable slider widgets without needing an XCMD or external resource.
Configuration
The function accepts horizontal or vertical orientation and returns an integer value representing the slider's position, which the calling stack can then process further.
Distribution
Released as a DropStuff 3.5.1 archive wrapped in BinHex 4.0, posted to Info-Mac in the cards (crd) category as slide-objects-10.hqx.
Contact
The author invited comments and suggestions at benl@sickkids.on.ca, reflecting the stack's role as a small developer-oriented utility rather than a finished game.
Note on naming
Despite the catalog tagline of "sliding-tile puzzle," the BinHex header makes clear this is a slider-control HyperTalk helper, not a 15-puzzle.
