Par Pyramid is a 1995 Mac solitaire program by Grayson Myers that plays the classic Pyramid Solitaire and adds the Par Pyramid scoring variant drawn from The Complete Book of Solitaire and Patience Games. Players can pick either rule set and clear the pyramid by pairing cards that total thirteen.
Two ways to play
The program offers a choice between standard Pyramid Solitaire and the Par Pyramid scoring method, so the same deal can be replayed under different rules.
Where the rules come from
The Par Pyramid scoring is credited to The Complete Book of Solitaire and Patience Games, a long-standing reference for solitaire variants.
Modest system needs
Par Pyramid runs on 68k Macs under System 7.0 through 7.6, asking only for 1 MB of RAM, 360 KB of disk space, an 8-bit display, and a 12-inch or larger monitor.
Card and casino category
Macintosh Garden files it under Card & Casino and reports it works under SheepShaver for play on modern systems.
