FreeCell for Mac 1.1 is a Macintosh port of the popular FreeCell solitaire card game, released as shareware by Alberto (alberto@baba.cenamec.org.ve) and distributed via Info-Mac in the mid-1990s. Version 1.1 added an undo function on top of the standard FreeCell ruleset.
Gameplay
FreeCell is an open-information solitaire variant in which all 52 cards are visible from the start. Players use four free cells and four foundations to sort the deck into suits, with a high proportion of deals being solvable through careful planning.
Version 1.1 Changes
The 1.1 release introduced the ability to undo moves, a quality-of-life improvement that brings the Mac port in line with later FreeCell implementations on other platforms.
System Requirements
The game requires System 7 or better and a 68020 or better processor, putting it firmly in the post-Mac-Plus generation of Classic Mac software.
Shareware Terms
Distribution is shareware with a $10 registration fee, payable to the author at the address listed in the included documentation.
