On the Edge is a solitaire card game for the classic Mac by John Stiles, distributed through Info-Mac in February 1995 as a fat binary that runs natively on both 68k and PowerPC machines. Version 3.1 is the build preserved in the archive, packaged in the game/crd (card games) section.
Gameplay
On the Edge is a single-player card patience. Detailed rules and scoring shipped in an accompanying readme file ('read m') inside the StuffIt archive rather than on the Info-Mac index, so the in-game help is the canonical reference.
Compatibility
The release is a fat binary, so a single executable runs on 68k Macs and PowerPC Macs without a separate PPC build. It targets System 7-era Macintosh hardware.
Distribution
Submitted to Info-Mac on 24 February 1995 by Robbie R. Veith on behalf of author John Stiles, with a note that the binary is fat and can be filed under either the 68k or PPC card-game directory.
