About

Tarantula is the classic game of solitaire commonly known as Spider, written for the Macintosh by Andrew Warinner in 1994. It isn't easy to win, so the author added a set of optional rule relaxations to help players see more games through to the end. The game runs on System 6 or 7 and supports all color depths as well as black and white.

Multiple Tableaus

Tarantula lets you open multiple tableaus and play several games of Spider simultaneously, switching between hands in their own windows.

Cheat Options and Customization

Selectable cheat options relax the standard Spider rules to make winning more attainable. You can also pick from different card faces and backs and play in color or black and white, with resizeable card stacks to fit your screen.

Undo, Save, and Smart Play

Unlimited undo and redo let you walk all the way back to the start of a game and forward again. Saved games preserve every move so you can resume exactly where you left off, and a double-click on a card automatically performs the best legal move.

Distribution

Tarantula is shareware with a $10 fee, released by Andrew Warinner of Infotec S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland and distributed via Info-Mac.
