ATC Sim is a freeware Air Traffic Control simulator for the Macintosh in which the player works a single sector of UK controlled airspace. Aircraft enter the player's sector along real published airways, and the controller is responsible for sequencing them along the correct routes into and out of the major airports they are bound for.
Run a UK sector
The simulator drops the player into the seat of a UK area controller. The flight plans, the airways grid and the maps the player works against are taken from real United Kingdom air traffic situations rather than invented for the game.
Escalating traffic load
The challenge ramps as the session progresses: more and more aircraft populate the flight list, so the controller has to juggle a steadily growing number of strips while keeping each aircraft on its assigned airway and clear of the others.
System requirements
The author lists a colour Macintosh with at least an 040-class processor as the minimum specification. Earlier 68000- and 68020/030-based Macs are not supported.
Freeware release
ATC Sim is distributed as freeware by its author, with no registration fee. It sits alongside an earlier non-"Sim" sibling release of the same Air Traffic Control program from the same author.
