Cricket is a first-person batting simulation by Graham Randall that brings the gentleman's game to the Classic Mac. Players step into the shoes of a batsman, facing fast and spin bowlers across a series of overs while computer-controlled umpires, fielders, and a roaring crowd round out the on-field action.
Gameplay
The view sits behind the batsman as the bowler runs in, then shifts to track the ball as it pitches and turns. Timing the swing determines whether the ball is driven for runs, edged to the slips, or sails to the boundary, and a radar tracker lets you replay the path of the last delivery.
Teams and Players
Later versions ship with editable squads so you can rename every player and open the batting for your favourite side. The shareware database carries up-to-date batting and bowling statistics to help you pick a balanced eleven.
Match Atmosphere
Crowd ambience plays under every delivery, the third umpire arrives with an animated electronic display for close decisions, and extended scoreboards report bowling speed alongside the usual run, wicket, and over counts.
System Requirements
Released for 68k and PowerPC Macs running System 7.0 through Mac OS 9. A 68040 processor, 4 MB of free RAM, and a 256-colour display are recommended for smooth play.

Developed and maintained as shareware by Graham Randall in the United Kingdom, with annual updates released through the early 2000s to coincide with each new cricket season.
