Plunk! is a tile-matching puzzle game by Timothy M. Brown, released in 2000 under the Black Magik Software label. Players scan the board for groups of adjacent matching tiles and click to clear them; larger groups score more, and hidden bonus tiles reward bigger combos. Built-in themes, five board sizes, and configurable rules let families and casual players tune the pace.
How it plays
The board fills with a grid of themed tiles. Click any group of two or more touching tiles that share an image to remove them; remaining tiles collapse to fill the gap. Bigger groups multiply the score, so the trick is to spot long chains and uncover the hidden bonus tiles before the board locks up.
Themes and customization
Plunk! ships with several visual themes, each carrying its own art and sound set. A preferences panel lets players pick one of five board sizes, toggle scoring multipliers, and adjust gameplay options to make sessions shorter or more demanding.
Author and release
Author Timothy M. Brown distributed the game as shareware through Black Magik Software with a single-user license priced at US$19.95. The included documentation lists Tim Brown's contact details for registration.
System requirements
Plunk! is a PowerPC-only release that requires an Apple Power Macintosh running Mac OS 8.1 or later. The game has been confirmed to run on a 400 MHz G3 system under Mac OS 9.
