Smart Cookies is a 1997 Mac puzzle game by Georges Gyory in which the player empties a box of cookies by removing connected groups of the same color. A diagonal-slide mechanic lets the board be reshaped between captures, encouraging combos and larger color clusters.
Match and Slide
The basic move is to take any connected same-color group, but the smarter play is to slide cookies along diagonals first, fusing small clusters into a single big sweep that scores far more points.
Configurable Rules
Box size, palette of colors, and scoring method are all adjustable, letting players dial the puzzle from a quick warm-up into a long combinatorial grind without changing engines.
Mac-Native Presentation
The game leans on the late-90s Mac shareware look, with crisp icon-style cookie sprites and dialog-driven options panels rather than custom UI chrome.
