Risk II Improver is a small third-party patch for Risk II, the colorized Mac version of the classic world-domination board game. Created by schreib1@marshall.edu, it enables backgrounding so the game cooperates with other Mac applications and fixes a recurring dialog box error that nagged players of the original release.
What It Patches
The patch targets two specific quality-of-life issues in Risk II: it allows the game to run in the background under classic Mac OS cooperative multitasking, and it corrects a buggy dialog box that appeared during normal play.
Relationship to Risk II
The author is careful to note that this is an unofficial fan patch and has no affiliation with the original Risk authors or with whoever colorized Risk into Risk II. It is offered to the Mac community as a courtesy fix.
Requirements
Requires an existing copy of Risk II installed on a Classic Mac. The patch itself is tiny, distributed as a BinHex archive in the Info-Mac game/brd (board games) directory.
