Traffic is a shareware sliding-block puzzle game for Classic Mac OS by reddlew, released as version 1.0.1 in the late 1990s. You shuffle cars and trucks around a gridlocked board with the single goal of clearing a path so the silver car can escape onto the open road.
Gameplay
Each puzzle starts with the silver car boxed in by a jam of other vehicles. Cars slide horizontally and trucks slide vertically along their lanes, so you must plan a sequence of moves that opens the exit while staying within the board's tight constraints.
Design
The board-game format borrows from the classic Rush Hour-style sliding puzzle, scaled down to a quick-play Mac shareware experience. Levels lean on logical deduction rather than reflexes, and the simple presentation keeps the focus squarely on each puzzle layout.
System Requirements
Traffic 1.0.1 runs on either 68K or PowerPC Macs with System 7.5 or later and around 5 MB of free RAM, putting it comfortably within reach of mid-1990s home machines. It is archived under Info-Mac's board-game category.
