Blocktoid is a Macintosh shareware Arkanoid clone that brings the classic bat-and-ball brick-breaking formula to the Classic Mac OS. Players steer a paddle along the bottom of the screen, bouncing a ball upward to chip away at walls of colored blocks while keeping the ball in play.
Arkanoid Lineage
Like the Taito original it descends from, Blocktoid casts the player as the last line of defense against a fragile ball, demanding precise paddle angles to clear stacked brick formations and survive ever-faster rebounds.
Classic Mac Shareware
The title sits squarely in the 1990s Macintosh shareware tradition, distributed as a try-before-you-buy download for users hunting quick arcade fixes on their black-and-white or early color Macs.
Pick-Up Play
Sessions are designed for short bursts: lose your last ball and you start the level over, with the loop of clearing bricks, dodging escaping balls, and chasing higher scores driving replay value.
