Christoville is a user-made PUD map file for Warcraft IIx, Blizzard's Mac port of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Authored by an eleven-year-old Chris Lambert using the Warcraft 2 Map Editor, it is a 96 by 96 tile map with a five-player capacity, packaged for distribution through the Info-Mac game/brd archive.
About the map
The PUD is built from scratch in the official Warcraft II map editor and is sized 96 by 96, which sits in the small-to-mid range of the editor's options. Five player slots make it usable for free-for-all or mixed human and computer matches.
How to use it
PUD files are dropped into the Warcraft II maps folder and selected from the custom-game map list. They require a working installation of Warcraft IIx (or Warcraft II) on the Mac to load, since the map carries layout and unit placement only, not the engine.
Author note
The included note from the author asks for feedback by email, framing the map as an early creative effort and an invitation to suggest improvements for a follow-up. It is a small artifact of the late-1990s Warcraft II custom-map community on the Mac side.
Distribution
The file was uploaded to Info-Mac under the game directory and is preserved here as a single BinHexed map, with no installer or additional assets beyond the PUD itself.
This file is part of the MacTrove archive. See the Thank You page for the upstream mirrors we rely on. It is BinHex encoded — use The Unarchiver to decode it.
