Canfield is an early Classic Mac solitaire game by Michael A. Casteel, released in 1984 and published by Computing Capabilities Corporation. It started life as a simple black and white implementation of the classic Canfield solitaire variant for the original Macintosh.
The game
Canfield is a patience game played with a standard 52-card deck, known for its low win rate and reliance on the luck of the deal. This Mac version brings the tableau, reserve, and stock to a clean B and W interface.
History
First released in 1984, Canfield is among the earliest solitaire titles to appear on the Macintosh platform, distributed through Computing Capabilities Corporation.
Versions
Macintosh Garden preserves both the original black and white build and a later color variant, captured in the canfield.gif and canfield-color.jpg screenshots in the project's media archive.
