flame bait god thread Troubleshooting 18 posts Jul 4, 2004 — Jul 5, 2004
Hello!

I did a search for rebirth, you know, the music app, and was overwhelmed with goddamn god threads.

Jesus! I'm so glad I live in the UK. http://www.thinkinganglicans.org.uk...ves/000486.html

Driving through new mexico from ski resort to ski resort recently, I happened upon a christian radio station: Joe: "Do you think a demon is in my light switch? Because my light is flickering."
Preacher man: "Perhaps, but whatever, you need to protect yourself with the armour of god"

Although scared, I laughed anyway.

Later I got drunk, and, whilst talking to an extreme skier person who was discusing an odd event that happened to him, I said: "That's Gad talkin'!" To which he replied: "I think your right man"

I was F'in JOKING!

You all need to do a search for 5-Meo-DMT and order some. It's legal in the US, and I seriously doubt the bible specifically mentions it.

What I want to get across is that the radio 'call a preacher' thing actually scared me. Of course there is the odd religious radio station round here, but I am not in anyway as bombarded with blind faith as I was in New Mexico.

I was more scared of that than I've ever been of al Qaeda.

To repeat, I was shocked and amazed!
I'm jeff, God of Biscuits, fear me.

The biggest problem with the god-myth is that almost everyone thinks god is on their side. A little less god would go a long way toward making the world a better place. Think of all the violence that wouldn't take place if more people believed in treating others the way they want to be treated instead of using the god-myth to justify violence and war, stopped using the myth of forgiveness to justify doing something bad now with the intention of gaining divine permission later by saying "I'm sorry" to their imaginary friend at the end of the week.

If religion was taken out of this planet. Man would find something else to justify violence and war.

They already do.

The problem is man. Not religion.
Dont <- (you too!) ever ever ever ever click on this --->LINK

I know! It's great. Get's<- (see) me out of all sorts of situations. Or at least it did. Now I have to pretend to be clever most of the time.

Michael Moore is an ass by the way, his gun one is ridiculous. America rocks! People should hold onto its constitution. And should never see the world as nice and fluffy.
One thing that impressed me driving around was the banners saying things like: "The price of freedom is vigilance" and "Protect our values". People who should have views aren't interested in Britain...

I'm not so keen on being fingerprinted to enter the US however, and the world being forced to use biometric passports. I refuse to be databased in that way unless the state can prove I've done something wrong. Feels like Nazis to me.

Politics and religion don't have to be bones of contention, I started this for fun!
gogod.

I disagree. Religion is as old as humanity, entwined in the fabric of our society. Of course, we're not immortal so the debate is kind of moot.

When religion says it's OK to murder, crucify, and persecute people who aren't of the same religion, belief structure, or apparent moral standard, the problem IS religion. When people do the afore mentioned in the name of religion, the problem is religion.

"But you need people to carry out those acts of violence!" Yeah, and you need religion to justify it and settle your conscience.

True evil is blind, ignorance is stupidity.
