About
This extension is of relevance only to users of Norton Utilities version 2.x; version 3.x users should abstain. This extension is not original with me; I simply dug it up somewhere, long ago, and am posting it because I haven't seen it anywhere online recently.
>From the User Documentation
When Norton Utilities v2.0 was released, it was a safe bet that any Macintosh clock having a date all the way into the year 1995 was set incorrectly. Norton Utilities has proved to be written well enough that it has not been obsoleted by new system software releases or new hardware. As a result, it has recently been warning people that their Macintosh clocks may be wrong. This can be unnerving when the very reason you are running Norton Utilities is because your computing world is coming down all around you.
NU Fixer is an extension that simply changes the date that Norton Utilities uses for checking your Macintosh clock. When the extension is active, Norton Utilities will use January 1, 1999 for this sanity check. Your Norton Utilities application is otherwise unaffected and the copy on your disk is not changed at all.
