Continuum is a 1987 arcade-style action game by the Wilson Brothers for the classic Macintosh. Players pilot a small spacecraft through top-down mazes, eliminating enemies while contending with bouncy walls that grow ever more lethal as levels progress. The working title was Gravity Well.
Gameplay
Each level demands clearing every hostile in the maze. Movement is inertial, and the elastic walls rebound the ship unpredictably, rewarding patience and careful thrust management over twitch reflexes.
Levels and Galaxies
The game ships with built-in galaxies, and a level editor allowed players to design and trade their own custom galaxies, extending the game's life through community content.
Distribution
After reclaiming rights from Broderbund, the Wilson Brothers re-released Continuum as beerware, requesting only a beer in trade for the game. A Commodore 64 port appeared commercially as Magnetron.
This Sibling
This particular Info-Mac upload is a user-contributed galaxy (custom level set) for Continuum, packaged as a separate download from the main game.
