Clue Deluxe HC is a HyperCard adaptation of the classic detective board game, written by Harley N. Bradley and distributed through the Info-Mac archive. The single-player stack casts you as the detective working through a rotating set of scenarios to identify the murderer, the weapon, and the room.
Gameplay
Per the author's own Info-Mac note, this is "a clever one-player version to play detective" with "many scenarios included." Each session randomizes the solution, and the player narrows it down by checking suspects, weapons, and rooms against accumulated evidence inside the stack.
HyperCard heritage
The release ships as a HyperCard stack rather than a standalone application, so it requires HyperCard or the free HyperCard Player to run. That dependency placed it squarely in the mid-1990s wave of homebrew Mac games built on Apple's authoring environment.
Sibling versions
Bradley released several flavors of Clue Deluxe through Info-Mac. A black-and-white build (clue-deluxe-bw.hqx) targeted compact Macs, and a Japanese localization (clue-deluxe-jp.hqx) was distributed alongside the color HC stack mirrored here.
Distribution
The file was contributed by Harley N. Bradley (nomsdos@adelphia.net) and mirrored from the Info-Mac game directory on ftp.funet.fi as a BinHex 4.0 archive. No screenshots accompanied the original Info-Mac submission.
