Congratulations on acquiring Readiris. This software package will undoubt- edly be of great help in recapturing your texts, tables and graphics. As efficient as computers are, you have to key in your information first. If you have ever retyped a 15 page report or a large table of figures, you know how tedious and time-consuming it can be. Use this state-of-the-art OCR package to automatically enter text in your applications and you'll acquire an unprecedented level of efficiency and comfort! Scan a printed or typed document, indicate the zones of interest - or have the system detect them for you -, execute the character recognition and export the document to your wordprocessor. A few mouse clicks beat long hours of work as Readiris converts your paper documents into editable computer files: it's up to 30 times faster than manual retyping! With the automatic mode of operation, the user's effort is reduced to a single click: he initiates the scanning and saves the text result, all intermediate steps are taken care of by Readiris. After the recognition, you can send the reading results directly to your favorite applications - be that a wordprocessor, spreadsheet or web browser. Readiris recognizes tabular data and recreates them as worksheets or as table objects inside your wordprocessor; your numeric data are immediately ready for further processing. Based on the Connectionist technology from I.R.I.S., Readiris represents the best OCR has to offer. Font-independant feature extraction is complemented by self-learning techniques derived from a proprietary neural network. The system can learn new characters through context analysis: linguistic knowledge about syllables and words improves the OCR performance. Readiris supports up to 54 languages: all American and European languages are supported, including the Central-European languages, Greek and the Cyrillic (“Russian”) languages. Readiris even copes with mixed alphabets: the software detects “Western”…

Welcome to VoltaicHD http://www.shedworx.com Copyright 2008 Systemic Pty Ltd What is VoltaicHD? VoltaicHD is a program to convert AVCHD video content to a format usable on Macintosh OS X computers. What is VoltaicHD not? VoltaicHD is not a movie player or editor. How do I setup VoltaicHD? Once you have installed VoltaicHD, open the Preferences window to setup your preferences. How do I use VoltaicHD? Open your AVCHD files from the file list window, or drag and drop onto the list area. Once your files are in the list, just click Start. A more thorough user guide can be found on our website. How do I get my movies off my camera? With AVCHD camcorders, you typically need to connect the camera to your Mac using a USB cable. Once connected and powered on, the camcorder should appear on the desktop as a new disk. The location of the films on the camcorders disk will vary depending on manufacturer. It is required that you copy the movies to your Mac's hard-drive before using Voltaic. Visit our website for information on DVD-based AVCHD cameras. How do I activate VoltaicHD? Please visit http://store.shedworx.com Once you have received your activation code via e-mail, start Voltaic and go to the Voltaic->Activate menu option. What is the Apple Intermediate Codec? Also refered to as AIC, the Apple Intermediate Codec is a digital film format entirely using I-frames. This means that it is easy to edit your films in real-time. AIC is the native format for both iMovieHD and Final Cut. FFmpeg VoltaicHD uses FFmpeg for part of the conversion process. FFmpeg is used as an external executable and you can find it in the Resources area of the application contents. You are welcome to replace FFmpeg with a version that you compile up yourself if you like. You can see the build options and SVN version number of the version of ffmpeg that we supply by double clicking on the ffmpeg file. Are there requirements? Yes, and they are as follows: - Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 (Intel and PowerPC) - Quicktime 7.3 or later - Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC comes with iMovieHD and Final Cut) - A significant amount of disk space. A 15 MB AVCHD file will result in an ~40 MB Quicktime AIC movie, with an additional ~40 MB temporarily needed for the conversion. A 50 MB AVCHD movie will result in an ~280 MB Quicktime AIC movie, with an additional ~280 MB temporarily needed for the conversion. We hope you get the idea that a lot of hard drive space is required. Version history 1.7.0 Now supports encoding for other formats including MOV, MP4, DV, TOD. 1.6.2 Fix for machines running 10.5.* on PowerPC boxes. 1.6.1 Added support for Sanyo and JVC Everio files. Fix for machines running 10.4.* on Intel boxes. 1.6.0 Added support for custom video exports through Quicktime export mechanism. 1.5.0 Added auto-update functionality. Fix for machines running 10.4.* on Intel boxes. 1.4.4 Implemented proper fix for 1440x1080 users with speed up problem. Added Polis…

MkLinux - Read Me First This is a work in progress. Things may have changed since these Release Notes were created. Be sure to visit our Web site, www.mklinux.apple.com, for any late breaking news, changes, or updates. Contacting Apple Should you have any comments, issues, or bugs to report, please send us mail at: bugs@mklinux.apple.com. Configuration, Drive Setup and Partitioning We recommend you use a dedicated hard drive for installing MkLinux - for ease of installation and to avoid any potential loss of data, don’t share the drive you use for your primary Macintosh filesystem. You may use Apple HD SC Setup or any 3rd-party disk partitioner that can create "A/ UX" type partitions. Your target drive may be any SCSI ID. We recommend at least 400 MB of available disk space, and 16 MB RAM before you install MkLinux. X11R6 distribution The X11R6 distribution is not automatically installed. To install the X Window system, follow the instructions in the file "X11 Binary Installation" in the folder "MkLinuxFiles:X11R6.bin". Supported Systems This version of MkLinux has been booted and run on the following types of systems: Power Macintosh 6100 Power Macintosh 7100/66, 7100/80 Power Macintosh 8100/80, 8100/100, 8100/110 PowerComputing 100 & 120 Power PC 603/604 are not supported Known problems Video • Only the Power Macintosh on-board video and HPV card are currently supported; nubus video cards will not work in this release. • The video driver does not yet recognize the Apple monitor as a “linux” or “console” terminal type. The following workarounds are recommended: – the linux console is being temporarily considered to be a “vt100” terminal. The /etc/termcap file has been modified accordningly. – stty -onlcr is set for console (vt100) sessions; stty onlcr is set for telnet (vt220) sessions. This has been set in /etc/profile and /etc/csh.login. – Note: You must set the appropriate number of rows for your terminal. Set this in your .profile (.login) or the system /etc/profile (/etc/csh.login). For example, for a 640x480 screen (Apple 13-inch), use: stty rows 30 export LINES=30 # csh: setenv LINES 30 • "Millions Of Colors" (aka 32bpp) is not supported. (yet) •"Thousands of Colors" (aka 16bpp) is supported. X11 does run in this mode, but has problems with adjusting the color map. •Video scrolling is slow. If you are using motherboard video, you might want to set the monitor into Black&White mode (aka 1bpp) for faster scrolling. PCI Bus PCI bus is currently unsupported. SCSI devices • For systems that have two SCSI busses, such as Power Macintosh 8100/100's, the SCSI ID maps are logically merged into one. Devices sharing the same id but on seperate busses are not supported. Only the external bus ID will be accessible in such a case. Shadow drives are not supported • Only SCSI hard disks and CDROM…

ReadySetGo 2.0 Notes: The following material discusses features added to ReadySetGo 2.0 after the manual was printed. These notes will be incorporat- ed in the next printing of the manual. 1. Page Setup Dialog. The ReadySetGo 2.0 disk contains a new version of the ImageWriter driver. The dialog which appears when Page Setup is selected is slightly different from the one shown on pages 5 and 87 of the manual. The new driver supports both the regular and 15 inch ImageWriters and it provides a 50 percent reduction option. Never use the Tall orientation with ReadySet- Go. Always use either Tall Adjusted or Wide. 2. "Other" Line Spacing. The Format menu allows for, among other things, the selection of a line spacing for a text block. Page 79 of the manual refers to the choices of single, 1 ½ or double spac- ing. ReadySetGo 2.0 now supports the option of variable line spac- ing. To use this option select "Other" from the Format menu. A dialog will appear requesting a line spacing in points (there are 72 points in an inch). All text which appears in the active block, regardless of size, will display with this number of points separat- ing the baseline of each line in the block. Sizes which are larger than the line spacing will appear "clipped" on the screen but out- put fine to the printer. 3. Paragraph and Left Indent. The Text Block Specification sheet presented when Modify is chosen while a text block is active con- tains the fields Para Indent and Left Indent. The Para Indent refers to the indentation of the first line of each paragraph from the left margin. It is given in inches from the left margin. The Left Indent refers to the indentation from the left margin of all lines of the paragraph other than the first. It also is given in inches from the left margin of the text block. An alternative method of indenting paragraphs is to use the tab key. If no tabs are set the tab key inserts a fixed space of 8 points independent of the current size. This method of indentation must be used for text chains to avoid an unwanted indent when the first line of a text link comes from the middle of a paragraph. Indents larger than 8 points simply require hitting the tab key a few times. 4. Fonts. ReadySetGo 2.0 comes with a set of fonts installed. These fonts may be removed and/or others added using the font mover utility. ReadySetGo 2.0 automatically displays and makes avail- able whichever fonts are resident in the System Folder. 5. Laser Printer. ReadySetGo 2.0 comes with the ImageWriter driver installed. To use ReadySetGo with Apple's laser printer fol- low the "laser installation" procedure described in the LaserWriter documentation. 6. Switcher. ReadySetGo 2.0 requires a 512K Macintosh. It will, though, work with Switcher providing you configure ReadySet- Go with at least 256K. 7. Limits. The following limits apply to a ReadySetGo 2.0 document: Maximum number of pages: 32 (Subject to memory limitations) Maximum number of blocks per page: 100 …

Epic Banana Presents.... Reaper Arena By Ryan Foltz What is it?- Reaper Arena is a side-scrolling action game. It's kinda long-anticipated. I named it originally when it was going to be an arena game, but I changed the setup and kept the name. What is the plot?- Well, uh, gee... Oh, I got it! You're a commando sent on top-secret missions to neutralize matters of national security. Requirements- At least 1.5 megs of RAM Approx. 915 K hard disk space Color monitor, 256 colors Probably system 7 or greater. I dunno. Gameplay- Here's the controlls: J- Move left L- Move right K- Climb down ladders I- Climb up ladders, jump up U- Jump to the left O- Jump to the right A- Shoot left D- Shoot right Space- action (open doors, activate rocket turrets, etc.) The missions- MISSION 1: A team of pyromaniacs have seized a small villa in Kentucky and taken hostages. Kill all hostile forces and protect civilians. NOTE: The leader of the team has strapped himself to a bomb, and we suspect he will detonate if you get close. It's acceptable if he blows himself up, just as long as he doesn't kill the civilian in the process. MISSION 2: A high-tech group of assasins are plotting to kill the president. Neutralise the threat. NOTE: The main assasin is highly dangerous. She's holed up in her underground bunker. Be careful. MISSION 3: Some para-science researchers have read one to many a copy of "Jurrasic Park" , and figured out a way to clone to life raptors. Break into the installation and terminate all live specimens and any people or guards that try to stop you. NOTE: Try to kill the raptors without getting close. A direct confrontation would probably be fatal. MISSION 4: A techno-ninja militia group has been found guilty of manufacture of illegal weapons and conspiracy to overthrow the government. An obvious threat to national security. Intelligence reports that they plan to attack soon. Find out what they're up to, and puta stop to it. NOTE: The information you need is in a small, boxlike computer. Beware these ninjas, the can really slice you up. Weapons and Equipment- Bayonet Key: 1 Damage:1 - 1 - Found on Level: n/a Description:I forgot why I put this in. It really stinks.Close range only. Press the attack key and release. M9 Beretta Key: 2 Damage: 1 Found on Level: n/a Description: A lightweight pistol. You come with it, it comes with you. First Edition (MacGarden Preview) 2 Cornica Recording Kit: First Edition Made by Cornica Vetusmedia, a subsidiary of SmileTV Networks Chile. Cornica, the Cornica logo, SmileTV Networks Chile and its logo are mixed trademarks and Creative Commons of Nicolas Bahamondes. First edition: January 16th, 2013. Warning: Cornica is a way to watch videos in a Mac using internet. Because this is an Open Source Project, I have no licenses to let strong copyrighted material be published in this site. If you want to upload videoclips, upload a self-made one. Cornica Recording Kit: First Edition 3 Welcome. Cornica is a web portal where Mac OS Classic users can watch videos in real-time streaming, just like in modern services like YouTube™ or Dailymotion™. Cornica also lets GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac OS X users can watch those videos, if they have installed previously QuickTime 5.0 or above (Windows and Mac OS X) or a Browser-compliant FFMPEG Player plug-in. Cornica was born in 2012, Classilla revolutioned the Classic environment letting users to navigate again in modern websites where are partially or not reachable using an old version of iCab, Internet Explorer or Netscape. Users tried to use the mobile version of YouTube to reach the obvious goal, but the 3GPP codec in QuickTime 6.0.3 are not capable to open the videos. With this limitation I got the idea to create a “Special YouTube page designed to work with Mac OS 9 and a recent version of QuickTime (in this case, 6.0.3).
