SoundDiver 3.1 Public Beta 2 The information in this ReadMe is subject to change without notice and does not represent any commitments on the part of Emagic. This section describes the changes since Public Beta 1. For the units listed below new adaptations have been added or existing once updated: - Novation Version 2 of Nova, Nova II Keyboard, Supernova, Supernova II Keyboard and Rack - Korg Poly-800 MkII and EX-800 - Fender Chroma Polaris - Yamaha G50 - Waldorf Q+ V3.54R1, R2, MicroQ V2.22R1, R2, Attack Rack - Behringer V-AMP 2 - Roland VG-88 - Technics/Matsushita WSA 1 SoundDiver 3.1 Public Beta 1 Currently SoundDiver 3.1 is available as a public beta for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. Whereas the Mac OS 9 version is still using the SoundDiver 3.0 CD copy protection, the Mac OS X version checks for a connected XSKey. SoundDiver 3.1 Public Beta for Mac OS X is free of charge for all XSKey owners. It doesn't matter which products are authorized on the XSKey. The section below describes all changes made since the release of SoundDiver version 3.0.4. New fe atures and changes since SoundDiver 3.0.4 – Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 - A new submenu has been added: F ile > Ope n Recent. This menu lists the most recently opened SoundDiver files. - Some settings in menu items have been restructured: The ‘Save Preferences’ and ‘Save a Copy of Preferences as …’ menu items have been moved to the Preference Menu. Note that these options are only available after preferences have been imported (or created). - The import of SoundDiver preference files via the P re ferences > I m por t P re ferences has been improved. If you start SoundDiver, always the default preferences will be loaded. Under MacOS X, these are always located under ~/Library/Preferences/info.emagic.sounddiver. Loading a Preferences file does no more change the file location where the startup preferences are saved. When saving the preferences in a different location, only a copy will be saved. If you select P re ferences > I m por t P re ferences, their contents are written into the default preference file when leaving SoundDiver. In this case, you will be asked whether you want to overwrite the imported file with the current default preferences file, or if you want to leave it unchanged. In either case, this does not change the location of the preference file used by SoundDiver on start-up. - The SoundDiver sound effects have been removed. - Context-sensitive menus have been added. Context-based menus are invoked via a Ctrl-click or right mouse click. As this conflicts with the range selection options in earlier SoundDiver versions, the modifier mouse clicks have been reassigned as follows: Shift-click now defines the end of a range selection (previously Ctrl-click). Cmd-click toggles the selection of a single item (previously Shift-click). The inversion of the current AutoAudition setting is no longer ava…

Chapter 3 Introductory Tour of SoundDiver 3 This document is a chapter of SoundDiver’s printed documentation, adapted to the OEM versions of SoundDiver, and with removed pic- tures. You can order the printed user manual (about 350 pages) from your Emagic distributor. We have prepared a brief tour of SoundDiver so that you can get to know the program as easily and quickly as possible. During the trip you can make a short stop at each station and carry out a few practical ex- periments with SoundDiver. We recommend that you spend half-an-hour doing this as it will save you a lot more time later. In the meantime, you’ll get an overview of the program before getting submerged in the details. Before starting the tour you should: ❏ install SoundDiver ❏ connect the device supported by this OEM version of SoundDiver ❏ have at least 100 KB available storage space either on a floppy or hard disk because we are going to create a library. The device used in most of the examples is the Roland JV-80. The Yamaha SY77 and the Korg 01/W are also used. Of course, you don’t have to use any of these devices. The operation of the OEM version of SoundDiver is similar. Off we go… 3.1 Station 1: Start We begin the tour by double-clicking SoundDiver’s program icon. SoundDiver starts up. First, you have to configure your ports. User manual V2.0 79 Chapter 3 – Introductory Tour of SoundDiver Scanning During the scanning operation, SoundDiver examines all the MIDI ports to see if a certain device is present. It does this by first loading the module or adaptation and then sending MIDI »Requests«. If a device answers it is installed by SoundDiver and is then available for use. SoundDiver OEM starts the scan process automatically at your first startup. In case you have connected your device differently or changed its device ID, SoundDiver will complain that it has not found it and offer a »Re-scan«. Window operation Before we cover the actual Setup functions, you should get to know the main functions relating to window configuration. These functions are available in SoundDiver’s Library, Memory Manager and Setup win- dows. Window layout On the left side of the Memory Manager window is the parameter box. It displays the parameters of the currently-active device and allows you to adjust these to suit your taste and system’s idiosyncrasies. In the upper left corner of the parameter box is a small triangle. Click- ing this will enlarge or shrink the parameter box. This function is also available in other SoundDiver windows. Now move the mouse pointer over the vertical dividing line down the …

SourceServer v. 3.4.2 Reference Contents Introduction..................................................................................................................1 Hardware and Software Requirements ........................................................................1 General Description .....................................................................................................2 Human Interface...........................................................................................................3 Combining with ToolServer.........................................................................................4 Supported Commands ..................................................................................................5 Client Development Information .................................................................................9 Source Code Example—SendCmnd Tool....................................................................10 Introduction SourceServer is a standalone version of the MPW Shell’s Projector that provides users with source code control for a software project. SourceServer performs as a server application that has no user interface; all of its commands come to it via AppleEvents. It is up to client applications to determine which Projector commands they support, what user interface they provide, and to issue the corresponding commands to SourceServer. Except for features relating to the user interface, we emphasize that SourceServer 3.4.2 is identical to Projector as found in MPW 3.4.2. Hardware and Software Requirements SourceServer requires a Macintosh running System 7.0 or later with AppleEvents. SourceServer itself comes preconfigured to use the same amount of memory as ToolServer, which is 768K of RAM. Best performance is achieved if both the cooperating development environment and SourceServer can be co-resident in memory. Using ToolServer as an example client, the total recommended memory requirement is 4 megabytes. SourceServer — “Prerelease” 4–1 MPW Pro #18 Release Notes General Description As was stated in the introduction, SourceServer is a standalone version of the MPW Shell’s Projector that provides a means to control and account for changes to all the files associated with a software project. All of the project’s files are stored, along with compacted prior versions and history, in a database named ProjectorDB. Subprojects are created by nesting ProjectorDB files within a hierarchy of folders. This nesting is done automatically during the NewProject operation. SourceServer is a single application with the creator signature 'MPSP' to differentiate it from the Shell’s 'MPS.' However, it performs all Projector functions on ProjectorDB files that have creator signatures of 'MPS.' This is done to allow all projects to be …

Space Dungeon 2.0b4 Thank you for downloading Space Dungeon. I would like it if you E-mailed me at TheGiant13@aol.com with any suggestions, comments, likes, or dislikes. Or visit my homepage at http://homepage.mac.com/giantmike System Requirements: 68030, 68040, or PowerPC processor System 7.0 and above 640x480 or better resolution 256 or more colors 4 MB RAM What is Space Dungeon? Space Dungeon is a fun, addictive game that I programmed in my spare time. In this arcade game, you will need a good combination of skill and luck to achieve high scores. The object of Space Dungeon simple. You are lost in a dungeon somewhere in space (hence the name). While you explore the dungeon, you gather gold and try to keep from getting killed from the various monsters. But don't fret, there are many items scattered about to help you on your way. While you are exploring, you will no doubt find an exit, but is it really the exit, or does it bring you deeper into the dungeon? While this game may not win any accolades for it's graphics, the game play is quite fun. I have received great comments from others players. Also, it was featured in the April,1997 Takarajima magazine (published in Tokyo) under the category "Best U.S. Shareware Games of the Year." How much does it cost? This game does not cost a single penny. Who made those wonderful graphics? My good friend, Joel Schou, made those awesome graphics. I'm not kidding when I say he is the best computer artist I know. Give him a big hand by visiting his website at http://www.vault25.com/biggshoe How are High Scores achieved? High Scores come from a combination of getting as much gold as possible, and killing monsters to get experience. The total score for the High Scores list is computed as follows: Score = Amount of gold + (Amount of experience *100). The reason for doing this is simple. It keeps you from just getting gold and avoiding the monsters. How do I move? You can either click the mouse on a tile next to you, or use a set of keys. To set the keys, select Preferences from the Edit menu or hit Command - P. To pick up an item, move on top of it. To kill a monster click on it, or hit the key in the direction of the monster. -1- After I kill a monster, sometimes my Hit Points go up. Why is this? When you kill a monster, you gain experience. When your experience reaches a certain height, you will gain a level. As a reward for doing this, your Hip Points get a boost. The higher the level, the more Hit Points you will get. Is there a limit to how many hit points I can get? Nope. You can constantly get more hit points, but that doesn't mean you will live forever. The monsters get stronger on higher levels, so you need all the hit points you can get. What is this thing on the bottom of the screen "You are: Not Poisoned"? This is a new features in Space Dungeon 2.0. The "You are: Not Poisoned" is the poison indicator. If it turns to "Y…
