iView Multimedia iView is simply the easiest and fastest way to play, display, and archive all types of multi-media including movies, images, sound, QuickTime movies, clip art, animations, fonts, QuickTimeVR, karaoke, etc. for the Mac OS. INTRODUCTION What It Is Have you ever wanted an application that would keep track of all the media files on your disk? Tired of searching thru disks and CD's trying to locate that special photo, movie, sound, animation or clip art you saw somewhere last week? iView is exactly what you need. The screenshots below show iView’s incredible flexibility and organizing power. iView goes lightyears beyond other image viewing utilities and allows you to view and organize many types of multimedia files on all your disks whether mounted or not. Some of the types currently supported include: JPEG, GIF, GIFf, TIFF, TIF, Single- layer Photoshop, Silicon Graphics and of course PICT files, QuickTime movies, QuickTimeVR, Fonts, GIF animations, sounds, startup screens and EPS. iView displays images as a list of file names, list of thumbnails, variable sized image, or as a slide show. Images can then be cataloged, launched with the application that created them, printed in custom reports, saved as a QuickTime™ movie, saved as HTML, copied to the clipboard, or dragged as clips/files/HTML/HREF formatted pathnames to the finder or any drag & drop savvy application. Catalogs can be searched and saved on your hard disk. A catalog can also display thumbnail images from volumes that may not be mounted. iView will let you view the images and prompt you to insert the volume to retrieve an image when needed. iView makes extensive use of drag and drop which makes it a pleasure to use with the Finder, Photoshop and many other applications. In fact, everything about iView is designed to be simple, useful and intuitive. iView eliminates tedious repetitive work and increases your ability to get the job done. It makes image reuse and playback quick and easy. Now individuals as well as publishers, designers, pre-press operators and multi- media programmers will never have to search through stacks of Zip/SyQuest/Jaz back- ups for missing files ever again. iView is a rapidly evolving application. Many changes are in store for this next year. Please make sure you have the latest version we make a new one available every month or two. Count on iView to grow rapidly based on your input and our own cornucopia of ideas. We plan to make iView your favorite application by giving registered users every upgrade free and by fulfilling your every desire, even ones you didn't know you had! What It Does iView goes beyond the simple Mac scrapbook in many ways. • View by info (name, size and other user selectable and editable text), view by thumbnail, view by variably sized image, view in a slideshow. • View a large variety of image formats (a growing list determined …

Icon Collector ©1995 Emmanuel RAYZAL. All Rights Reserved. - version 1.1.1 - Icon Collector is T-Shirt-Ware. If you decide to keep it, you must send me a T-Shirt (size L). My adress is listed below. WHAT IS IT: Icon Collector allows you to create icon collections by merging customs icons from multiple applications, files or folders in a single document, to save disk space. Icon Collector extracts icons from your collection by creating new folders with theses icons. STEPS: • Launch Icon Collector • Create icon collection by choosing New from the File menu. • Add icon(s) to collection by dragging applications/folder/files/disk… to Icon Collector's application from the Finder. • Extract icons by selecting an icon from your collection by double-clicking the icon in the collection. • Cut/copy/paste supported between Collections and Finder's Get Info box, and [new!] any application which accepts PICTs • Drag & Drop icons from Icon Collector to the Finder or any application accepting PICTs. • Drag & Drop files from the finder to Icon Collector's windows. • Import all icons from any file by pressing command key while dragging file to Icon Collector's icon. It will work only on icon sets containing resources of type 'ICN#' ie it will not import icons from ResEdit files containing only resources of type 'icl8'. WHY IS IT COOL ? Try to copy the custom icon of an appleshare volume or a CD-ROM with zillions of files from the finder : - select the volume - Get Info, wait, wait, wait : the Finder is calculating the size.... - copy the icon Try to do the same thing with Icon Collector - launch IC - create a new Collection - from the finder, drag the volume(s)'s icon(s) to Icon Collector's application icon - copy the icon from the Collection's window DOES IT REALLY SAVES SPACE ? Yes. The size of a collection appears larger than the size of all folders as it shows in the Get Info dialog box, but it's because the custom icons of folders are stored in invisible files, and the Finder doesn't look at such files to compute the size in the Get Info dialog box. ABOUT SIZE OF COLLECTIONS Because of the way Icon Collector is programmed, it can't handle huge icon collections. You may want to keep your collection's size smaller than 2 or 3 hundreds icons. This may change in a future version. FUTUR PLANS • On-line help • Option to copy a custom icon to the scrapbook without creating new collection • Option to extract many icons in one step. -1- • Print to printer • Selection of several icons • Extract many icons in one step • Collect all icons within a folder (recursively) •… HOW TO CONTACT ME: Emmanuel Rayzal 32 bis, bd J. Jaurès 92100 Boulogne FRANCE Internet : erayzal@iway.fr Drop me a line if you find any bugs or have any questions, comments or suggestions! LEGAL STUFF: Icon Collector is ©1995 by Emmanuel Rayzal. Read me first Itʼs best to begin with a word of warning: IIe is a complex program and has some powerful features. You can easily lose Apple //e data by using this program “recklessly” so please do these two things: (1) make a backup of all your important data and disk images, and (2) read these documents thoroughly. By reading these documents, youʼll understand how IIe works and how to use it safely and usefully. You can disregard this warning to your own consequence. It will be pointless to com- plain to me that you lost your work. My reply will be: why didnʼt you read the instructions and make a backup? Of course I want IIe to work as reliably and as safely as a real //e would. Nevertheless, there are probably some minor bugs in this program, so itʼs best to be safe and always have a backup. image Synth Reference Guide Luxology Image Synth Understanding Image Synth I mage synth is designed to allow you to find new ways to use existing images. There are two main results of using image synth. First it can use lower resolution images to create larger ones and secondly it creates maps that are perfectly tiling. There are many ways to feed the Image Synth engine. You can use a complete single image to grow a new one, you can use multiple images to blend into something new and/or you can use fragments or “chunks” of single or image Synth Reference Guide multiple images. While Image Synth may seem like magic, it really isn’t. In fact, while Image Synth can work miracles it is highly dependant on the seed images that you choose. Once you understand a few basic guidelines for choosing and preparing seed images you will be amazed with what you can accomplish nearly automatically. Navigating the Interface Input Images This is the image bin where you add and manage seed images and their “chunks”. There are two buttons located at the bottom of the Input Images bin, Add and Remove. Add: Pressing the Add button allows you to open new seed images into imageSynth. Use the file requestor to navigate to the desired file, select the file and press enter or click OK. imageSynth can load most standard image formats. If you have an image that will not load into imageSynth you can most likely convert it in Photoshop. PNG happens to be a favorite around here as it is loss less and compresses nicely. Remove: Pressing the Remove button will delete the currently selected seed image from the imageSynth session. You can select multiple images by holding the Shift key down and clicking on the images in the Input images bin. image Synth Reference Guide Once you have Added a seed image to the session you will see that the two columns in the Input images bin provide a preview of the image and informative text. You may also note that there is a small + icon just to the left of the preview image. Clicking the + will expand the list of “chunks” derived from the seed image. By default each see image has a single “chunk” associated with it that encompasses the entire seed image. You may also notice there is a Chunk ID number and probability rating. These are used wh…
