PhotoToolCM 2.0 Copyright © 2003-2005 Hide Itoh <hide@pixture.com> All rights reserved. PIXTURE STUDIO <http://www.pixture.com> What is PhotoToolCM ? PhotoToolCM is a contextual menu plugin for Mac OS X. It helps you to manage/organize JPEG photo image created by digital cameras. Originally, I was going to add these features and functions to my QuickImageCM. However, I realized that due to some technical reasons, adding these features would increase the object size of QuickImageCM dramatically. So I decided to make it a separate CM plugin. This CM plugin can be a nice companion of the QuickImageCM and it has supplemental features you don't find in my QuickImageCM. So all the features that QuickImageCM has are not added to this CM plugin (e.g. adding/removing thumbnail icons, or batch renaming using numbering mode). The main target of CM plugin is JPEG photo image created by digital cameras which contains special information called Exif, although some features still work with JPEG file that does not have Exif information. I don't explain about Exif and lossless transformation of JPEG files here. Please find such information on the Internet if you are curious to know about it, otherwise, most probably you do not need to use this CM plugin. Again, this CM plugin is for those who already know about Exif and lossless transformation or those who deal with digital camara's photo images frequently. Below is the summary of what this CM plugin can do. All of these features can be used right from the Finder without launching any applications. • Displays Exif information (plus general JPEG file information) of a JPEG file quickly on the contextual menu. • Copy Exif information of selected file(s) to the clipboard so that you can paste to other text documents. • Batch rename selected file(s) using Exif date (the date pictures were taken). • Change file dates (date created and date last modified) of selected file(s) to Exif date (the date pictures were taken). • Transform (rotate/flp images) JPEG image witout decompress and compress the actual image data. (aka. lossless transform) • Edit comment of selected JPEG files interactively, or all at once. • Edit Exif date (date and time of the picture taken) of selected JPEG files using absolute or relative date and time interactively, or all at once. • Clean up not important meta data and resource fork of selected JPEG files to make their file size smaller. • Batch resize selected JPEG files using scale ratio or width or height as a base. • You can easily add frames (with various shape and taste) to selected JPEG files interactively, or all at once. Installation For your convenicence, simple AppleScript to install the PhotoToolCM is enclosed. Just run the 'Install PhotoToolCM' script to install and follow the d…

PianoSim 1.1: Due to many people's request, I rewrite the interface in the current version1.1, for the macs with 9" B/W monitor, without the requirement of color QuickDraw (version 1.0 requires that to run). I also fix a major bug in this release. The version 1.1 use new icons for the application, please rebuilt desktop (hold down Option+Command while restart your mac) to use the new icons. I am going to make PianoSim a very well maintained program, please support me by sending your registration fee ($25 is really nothing compared with how much a commercial music program charges). Your help will be very appreciated. Oct. 16 1992 PianoSim introduction: Here is a new software called PianoSim I created for the Macintosh. It's a music instrument simulation with full music input and edit ability. You can use mouse click (sweep) or keystroke to play music real time. You can choose your favorite instrument from a panel of choices, including piano, bell, flute, guitar, sax... You can record your performance in real time and save it as a file for future playback. The software has a full featured editor, so you can edit and modify your performance. You can also just input your favorite music and save it as a record, for future playback and entertainment. The time duration of each note is accurate up to one tick (1/60 sec), the music symbol shown doesn't change the exact time duration embedded. You can control sound volume, play back speed (tempo), and pitch of all the piano keys within two octave. You can personalize your computerkey-pianokey correspondence and save your setting. Several of my favorite music is provided, including Fur Elise, love story, and a few Christmas carols. If you enter your favorite records, I'd love to have a copy if you are willing to offer (if you don't like the record to be included in future updates, please say so, I will honor your request). The software can be fun for adult as well as for child. I'd be very happy to know if you like it and have a good time with it. PianoSim is distributed as shareware, and ask for $25 shareware fee. But if you REALLY couldn't afford it, send me any amount you prefer. By sending me your donation, you are helping me to obtain enough resource and encouragement to write better software for the Macintosh. Your help will be very apprecaited. Registered user will receive a Thank You letter together with registration code to personalize your copy, and receive any future updates free. Please only distribute unregistered copies. PianoSim is tested on MacSE, Classic, II, IIcx, IIx, IIsi, IIci, IIfx, Quadra, under system 7 and 6.0.4 up. Any bug reports, suggestions, comments, etc. are all welcome. Thank you for your time and hope you have fun with PianoSim. I am currently looking for a mac programming position (I am a Univ. of Chicago graduate student getting my degree), if you have a job offer or any information …
