Designed for novices as well as professionals, 3D World provides the tools you need to create professional 3D designs, animations and QuickTime¨ movies. In addition to a core application suitable for viewing and manipulating existing 3D Þles, 3D World offers a plug-in architecture that makes it easy to add tools and extend the programÕs functionality. Plug-ins can be palettes, tools, menu items or idlers and can be loaded as the application is launched or ÔhotÕ loaded while 3D World is running. Information about the plug- ins available is provided in this manual. Additional rendering options, such as transparent surfaces and interactive constructive solid geometries, are available through supported QuickDraw 3D hardware renderers, and plug-in renderers from third party companies can be accessed by 3D World if they are installed in the Extensions folder. For added convenience, the 3D World product also includes the Librarian utility for cataloging and retrieving frequently used 3D objects, textures, and sounds. Take a look at the extra items on the CD which are not installed on your hard drive during the installation procedure. Use the sample textures, libraries and 3D Þles to quickly and easily cre- ate 3D documents, view the movie Þles to see some simple examples of animations created in 3D World, and play the demo movies for a brief explanation of some 3D World features. 2.1.3 Update Notes Page 1 of 2 Printed: Thursday, August 4, 2022 1:52:18 PM About Version 2.1.3: Version 2.1.3 of BBEdit is an incremental update which includes only bug fixes; no new functionality is added. The following problems are addressed in version 2.1.3: - in some low-memory conditions, BBEdit would crash or behave unpredictably. - previous versions of BBEdit would keep PowerBooks from going to sleep. - Although BBEdit could open files with more than 32,767 lines, the vertical scrollbar would behave strangely, and scrolling through such files was impossible. - Grep-based searches are between two and four times faster than before, depending on the computer you're running BBEdit on. - If a file located as the result of an Open Selection command is an alias, the alias will be resolved, rather than (incorrectly) opening the data fork of the alias itself. - in version 2.1.2, clicking on the pencil in the status bar would cause a crash. The following bugs were fixed in version 2.1.2, released on June 8, 1992. - under some circumstances, the function keys F1 through F4 on the extended keyboard would be out of sync with the enabling of the Edit menu. - with some printer drivers, the image of the last page (if printing backwards) or the first printed page (if printing from a page other than the beginning) would be blasted onto the screen. - under some conditions, wrapping text would cause update glitches in the document window being wrapped. - Entab and Detab now correctly compress and expand tabs. - Entab/Detab and Zap Gremlins would not properly disable the Undo command. - under some conditions, using Zap Gremlins would cause update glitches in the front document window. - when using Auto-Backup or Make Backup Now with long file names, BBEdit would hang. - Replace All operations would not mark the window "dirty" (needing to be saved). - Replace All operations using Grep would replace occurrences with the grep pattern, and not the appropriate replacement string. (This was introduced in 2.1.1.) - BBEdit now displays memory usage in its about box. - When Show Line Numbers was turned on, horizontal autoscrolling would leave the insertion point past the right-hand edge of the window. The following bugs were fixed in version 2.1.1, released on May 8, 1992. - If the Batch Results window was closed while "Add To Results" is turned on, the next attempt to search without changing the Add To Results switch would result in "NIL Master Pointer" message, or possibly a crash. - Some utilities which reshape the Open and Save As dialogs (such as Norton Directory Assistance) are now visible in these dialogs when …

Share Mappings.......................................................................................................... 5 i TeleScope Design Documentation Cross-Platform File Specifications 1. Overview As a software solution which operates on both Macintosh and Windows platforms, TeleScope has a requirement not only for storing the locations of files on both systems, but having a Macintosh able to locate and retrieve a Windows file and vice- versa. This is a difficult and complex problem, which has necessitated the creation of a platform-independent method of locating a file, and a format for storing this data into the TeleScope database in such a way that both Windows and Macintosh client software can access and understand it. Additionally, the underlying network layer must be removed from consideration, because of the wide variety of platforms and file servers which need to be supported. Thus, the desired solution will allow use of NFS/Share, Novell, or any other network layer configuration which permits both Macintoshes and Windows machines to connect to shared network devices. This is done using a combination of the file_alias and file_location fields in the editorial table, and the contents of the share_mappings table of the TeleScope database. Between them, the contents of these items are enough to allow both Macintosh and Windows computers to locate and access files on either platform, across a network. 1 TeleScope Design Documentation Cross-Platform File Specifications 2. File Alias In the editorial table, the file_alias field is used by the Macintosh client to locate files. The contents of this binary field are a Macintosh Alias Record. On import, the Macintosh client will place an alias to the imported file into this field.…
