It also assumes that you know all the basics of using the Macintosh in Mac OS X, including using the mouse, menus, and windows, and opening and saving files. Version 2.3 is similar enough to version 3.0 that this manual should be useful, although some features and settings described will not be present. CHAPTER 1: HOW TO USE THE MAC C COMPILER INTRODUCTION The Mac C Compiler translates programs written in the C programming language into 68000 assembly language for Apple's Macintosh 68000 Development System (MDS). The Compiler is fully integratedwith this developmentsystem and runs on either a standard Macintosh (128K or 512K bytes) with an external drive or hard disk. a Macintosh XL, or a Usa running MacWorks. Now it does much more. You can open, enable/disable, trash, or get info on items in your Control Panels, Extensions, Control Strip Modules, and Startup Items folders. To install, place Control Panels Strip in your Control Strip Modules folder. If you aren't using Extensions Strip as your module host, you'll have to restart to try it out. Also note that PowerPC native code will load if you are using Extensions Strip on a PowerMac since Control Panels Strip is FAT binary. Feature summary: • Displays the items in the Control Panels folder, allowing you to easily open them, as well as the folder itself. • Displays your Extensions if you hold down the Command( ) key, Control Strip Modules if you hold down the Control key, and Startup items if you hold with the Option key. NB: if you are using Control Strip, option-clicking will not work since that sequence is used to move modules. Under Extensions Strip option-clicking works if you hold down the mouse for a second. • Displays the respective disabled files if you hold the SHIFT key down. And as if that wasn't enough, you can also: • Dis/enable an item by selecting it with the shift key held down. • Move an item to the trash by selecting it with the option key down. • Get the Finder info of an item by selecting it with the command key down. • Use balloon help on the module if you forget which key does what :-) • Distribution: Control Panels Strip may be distributed freely, but it must remain in its unmodified entirety. It can be put on disks and CD-ROMs that charge a reasonable fee for the cost of distributing it.
