Haxial KDX 1.520 Documentation Haxial Software http://www.haxialsoftware.com/ Description KDX is a "BBS"-style (Bulletin Board System) encrypted internet communications system that provides voice chat, text chat, messaging, news, file transfer, trackers etc. It uses strong encryption to protect your communications for security and privacy. It is very useful for groups that need to collaborate on a project via the Internet. KDX uses a client/server basis (NOT peer-to-peer). While KDX works very well over the Internet, it also works very well on a LAN (local area network). KDX does not require an Internet connection, and is thus suitable for use on an internal company LAN, and for home or small business networking. Please note that a glossary appears at the end of this document, so if you encounter any terms that you are unfamiliar with, you can consult the glossary. How do I get started with KDX? Try the following to get you started: (1) Open KDX Client. (2) Click "Connect". (3) Click "Tracker" to change the tick to "Tracker". (4) Where it says "Address", you need to type in the address of a KDX Tracker that you have obtained yourself. (5) Leave the other boxes EMPTY. (6) Click Connect. (7) Wait a moment. (8) When you see "General" in the list, click it. (9) A list of servers appears in the bottom list after a moment. Click one to connect to it. You can repeat this process with a different tracker address to find different servers. The Importance Of Context Menus KDX uses Context Menus extensively. Many commands are “hidden” in Context Menus, so if you do not know how to use the Context Menus, you will miss many commands. A Context Menu is a menu that appears when you second-click on something. The commands in the menu act upon the object that you clicked on, or on the surrounding area in that window. “Second-click” means clicking on something using the other mouse button than you normally use (usually the right mouse button). If your mouse has only 1 button, then hold down the control key while you click to simulate the second button. Haxial KDX Documentation Page 1 of 32 In addition to Context Menus, KDX uses Window Menus. A Window Menu is accessed by clicking the symbol that appears in the title bar of some windows, or alternatively by second-clicking in the title bar. Button Bar Window This is the main/base window in KDX. It is your starting point for many of the commands. Probably the first button that you will want to use is the Connect button, which connects you to a server. Then you can use the other buttons. KDX contains many commands and features, more than can be displayed on the button bar window (only the most commonly used are displayed). To see the full list of commands, connect to a server, and then click the “Commands” butto…

Dome Wars 1.0.5 by Nathan Sturtevant ©1996 nathanst@csua.berkeley.edu http://www.csua.berkeley.edu/~nathanst/DomeWars.html Description The goal of the game is to be victorious in battle over the other tanks (domes). Each dome is started in a location across the canyon floor. By varying the angle and the power used, attempt to destroy the other tanks on the screen. Points and cash are awarded according to your performance during the play, which can then be used to buy new weapons. Quickstart Move turret left: right arrow, 6 (numeric keypad) Move turret right: left arrow, 4 (numeric keypad) Increase power: Up arrow, 8 (numeric keypad) Decrease power: Down arrow, 2 (numeric keypad) Medium increase power: hold down command key Fast increase power: 9 (numeric keypad) Fast decrease power: 3 (numeric keypad) Fire: space/enter/return Select Weapon: click with mouse/tab (forward)/command-tab (backward) How To Play Before you begin a game of Dome Wars, you should decide on the options for your game. A complete list of these options can be found in Chapter 3 of this document, Menu Options. To begin a new game of Dome Wars, select "New Game" from the file menu. You will then be presented with the following dialog box: Dome Wars Readme Page 1 Wed, Apr 20, 2022 From here you will determine the names & the number of players in the game. As you add players, the count of total players above the "OK" button will increase. A description of each player type can be found in Chapter 2 of this document, Computer AI. Please note that networking is not yet implemented, but is being worked on. After you set the characteristics for a player, you must press "Add Player" to add that player to the people in the game. Shortcuts: A - Add current player H - Select Human type I - Select Idiot type S - Select Straight Shot type C - Select Cyborg type R - Select Revenge type Tab - Select next player type Tab - Select previous player type Once you have added the total number of players in the game, you will begin play. (Unless you specified a starting cash amount. For a description of weapons see Chapter 4, Weapons.) A typical playing field might look something like this: It is your job to set your angle, weapon & power so that you can destroy the other tanks. This may take some practice. For beginners I would recommend playing as several human players at once, with no computers, until you learn the basics of the game. Extra Game Options Dome Wars Readme Page 2 Wed, Apr 20, 2022 • You can also click on the weapon name to get a pop-up menu of your avaliable weapons • Click on an enemy tank to see their name & health • Click and hold on the Quit/End Round buttons to exit while the computers are taking their turns. Play Notes A direct shot will always kill, unless shields are activated. A d…

Introduction Sword of Ages is a graphic text adventure where the stress is on puzzle solving although there is plenty of hack and slash. This is my first shareware product so be sure to send in the shareware fee. The game is quite simple to play, but I hope it takes a little bit longer to win than to learn. Commands Most commands, such as direstions, can be issued from the “Commands” menu. Sometimes the proper command will not be in the commands menu. In that case you will have to type the command. An example would be, “light candle”. If you think something might work, try it. When you want to use something in a scene but are not sure how, just drop it. By the way, search and dig everywhere, you never know what you might find. The following is a summary of the standard commands: NORTH Moves you north SOUTH Moves you south EAST Moves you east WEST Moves you west UP Moves you up DOWN Moves you down LOOK Describes the current scene REST Restores strength and passes time STATUS Tells you your condition INVENTORY Tells you what you are carrying OPEN Opens an object CLOSE Closes an object GET <OBJECT> Gets an object DROP <OBJECT> Drops an object WEAR <ARMOR> Wear a piece of armor OFFER <OBJECT> Offer an object to a monster AIM <BODY BART> Aims a weapon for the head, chest, or side. ACCEPT Accepts an offer made by another character. Version History 1.0 Released on VERY small scale. 1.0.1 More items, scenes, and better graphics. 1.0.2 Bug fix. v1.0.1 was unbeatable. 1.0.3 More sounds. Never released. 1.1 First semi-major upgrade. Characters give more inteligent responses. More Items. More monsters. More sounds. More scenes. More fun! 1.1.1 Improved wand of petrification code. 1.2 Added more scenes and sounds. 1.3 Added more sounds, scenes, objects, and monsters. I also put in code to make it possible for the player to advance by killing monsters. Therefore you will start off less powerful than in previous versions, but will be able to improve. 1.3.1 Minor Changes. Updated instructions and shareware info. 1.3.2 The really cool new icon (I always thought the globe stunk). A new monster. 2.0 Made the town larger. 30+ new scenes! General store added. New items! And last but not least COLOR icons (Special thanks to Brian Milch for being kind enough to design them.) 2.1 Fixed a bug. Much, much, much, much, etc. better graphics in the town. A new monster was added. Paying up I am asking 5 dollars for this program which I belive is a fair price. When you send in the money you are placed on my list of registered users. On request you will also recieve a hint book which will help to solve…
