About EV Credit Hack… Want to hire 6 kestrel escorts but can't afford to keep up the payments? Tired of not having enough credits to buy all those ship upgrades and weapons? Well, worry no more. This is a simple patch, created With ResCompare, will hack your pilot file to give you over 1.5 billion credits. ***WARNING*** FOR SOME REASON, THIS HACK DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK WITH BRAND NEW PILOT FILES. At present, i am working on finding the conflict. It seems to be a problem within escape velocity, because the code replacement checks out against a manually edited copy, and works perfectly well with games saved at various dates and with an assortment of different ships. It is reccomended that you use a game you have been playing for a while, and keep a backup copy! As i find cles as to why this happens, i will update this field and put out future versions. It's quick, its messy, and use it at your own risk. -jim Credits: Jim Fron (--nightshade--) Finding the Hex that contains the credits. [seeing as how i'm the only one with net access, to jfron@students.uiuc.edu] I'm currently working on my own homepage and would like to add your tips, tricks, rescodes and whatever else such as other little Easter eggs onto my page if you don't want your name used or would like a nickname used let use know. [let jim know] ARE YOU ILLEGAL? [For the beginner] Anther trick that we have used with escape velocity is the "clean sweep" this will clean up your game if you are illegal. [It will change your legal status in most sectors to "clean." DO NOT USE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE PLANETS YOU HAVE ALREADY CONQUERED! If you're that far along, you prolly don't need to use this anyways.] Change offsets 08A8-09C0 of pilot file MpïL #128to: 5386AAD4EC99D72C15EA28F42A3A590CD645A9146A5E D6EC97A12B34A8E354CC593CAD54E947D2AC19582F742 6A8508CDBFBB1946404CE6C9C1F33B4A4614C4C5DA2B5 D4E2FDCA2C1F0637F4231E480CDF61B81460A2C9ECE1FD 36341E074BCC2218B454DE6BCDAC63B432749CCC4F8CA 5D7B0945A28D16CE67B2EB41B85534C249EACD4DDE1D52 C62222AF49E62570CA3BDAB145CC6D4ECE5D92D341A2B 52CC2674AF54DB8FD0AC649031749D904E8CA293B3945F ECCC6CE03735B460494A4CE05AB7D461A5C82C9EFE39F4 A306460C5F19BA14E36AC7EC1CB5383425CF49CCDAD0B6 5467D3CBAC982C3474A8744D8C598FB294E690CF6C1B93 30B424ED514CDD36AED46549D32C9D5A2CF4A2AA550C5F F5AD14E00ED2EC60112F34E01350CC WANT TO BUY A SHIP BUT KEEP THE CASH? 1 Welcome to EV Nova Charlie deftly twisted the flight yoke, his hands a blur of motion over the various switches and buttons that make up the cockpit of a Federation Anaconda. Three Auroran Firebirds disappeared in a hail of fire and explosions, and Charlie pulled a tight victory roll, exulting in the thrill of combat. From the port side another gaggle of Firebirds jumped out of hyperspace. Charlie glanced down, and wondered how he was going to survive with only two missiles left. The Aurorans closed in, and with a savage turn, Charlie swung his fighter onto the tail of a squad of Aurorans. He opened fire, and one of the Aurorans dropped away, his fighter flaming and disintegrating, effectively out of the fight. The second fighter broke right, and as Charlie maneuverered to follow, white hot chain cannon rounds whizzed past the canopy. His shields glowed blue as they absorbed the blows, but the HUD showed that there was only 20% shield power left. The temperature rose as Charlie banked, snapping off a missile at the Auroran breaking off before him. The missile streaked towards the Fighter, only to turn away as the Firebird's jammers confused it. Cursing, Charlie dodged and wove, as his shields hit 10% power. Radar showed that he was outnumbered 15 to one, and that the hope of a Federation reinforcement fleet jumping in to save his bacon was next to zero. Things were looking grim, and Charlie was fighting for his life. Another element drifted across Charlie's nose. A quick burst of blaster fire sent one of them to a fiery death, and Charlie swung onto the other's "six". Rapid fire reduced it to smoking debris, but the odds were starting to tell. Chaingun rounds scored along the Anaconda's hull, and the radar shorted out in a shower of sparks. Craning around in his seat, Charlie saw five Firebirds closing in for the kill and he knew that all too soon, things were going to be coming to an end. In a desperate move he savagely swung the fighter around 180 degrees, letting its forward momentum carry it in a straight line. It meant that there was no more dodging, but it also meant that the fighter had all of its weapons firing in defense of what was the tail. One of the Firebirds exploded, but the combined fire of the other four quickly had rounds punching into the Anaconda's nose. Flames burst through the main systems, and the ship exploded. For Charlie, there was a brief moment of shock, a flash of bright white light, as the words "GAME OVER" slid across the screen. He had reached to level eighteen, which was five more than any of his friends could reach. He was the champion of his class, but when you're only in grade three, it isn't hard to get excited about such things. Charlie loved to play "Firebirds of Fury", and he hoped one day to join the Federation Navy. Most of his friends wanted to join up too. It was far off dream for a nine year old, but hopefully he could convince his parents to sign the early release form, so he could join up at ag…

ocs.com http://www.replacementd Part I: Nova History ..... -1800 NC - A group of humans with great telepathic powers, led by the former Indian prince Vell-os, leave Earth using their Psi abilities. 0 NC - Approximately 2780AD. The death of Omata Kane who developed the hyperspace jump formula and gates. Her gates enabled construction of the galactic grid; a system of relay points and jump gates that made hyperspace travel possible. At about this time a great expansion occurred 57 NC - The newly formed independent colonies each selected a representative and the Colonial Council was formed. 118 NC - The first confirmed sighting of the Hyperioids. 230 NC - The ‘first’ contact with the Vell-os. Over the past 2000 years they had developed certain technologies far beyond Earth’s, and their telepathic abilities covered everything else. Their nano-technology was very advanced; they had almost forgotten that it was anything but an extension of their powers. This nano-technology was also the main reason behind the small physical differences between them and the rest of humanity. 242 NC - The Vell-os join the Colonial Council. With their wisdom and psi powers they quickly become influential members. 380 NC - Kerell Polaris, a member of the Colonial Council, proposes an expedition to explore and colonize a region of space from Earth in the direction of the star Polaris. 382 NC - The Colonial Council, despite Vell-os support, rejects the proposed Polaris expedition on the grounds of expense. 397 NC - Kerell Polaris resigns from the Colonial Council to attempt to organize his expedition using his own funds. 420 NC - Vell-os throws its support behind the Polaris expedition boosting the launch timetable by roughly 30 years. 430 NC - 3 days after the death of Kerell Polaris, the expedition leaves Colonial Council space in the direction of Polaris. Over the next 110 years the expedition colonizes around 30 systems and forms its own system of government, and start thinking of themselves as Polarans. It becomes very isolated and makes no contact with the rest of the galaxy. 480 NC - The Polaris make their first contact with another species, the Wraith (as they later become known). It ends in bloodshed, and further enforces Polaris isolationism. 540 NC - The first contact between the Colonial Council and the Polaris expedition since it left Colonial Council space. The Polaris make it clear that any interference in their affairs by the Council will not be tolerated. 552 NC - The Colonial Council sends a diplomatic mission to the Polaris government. Due to the slightly hostile nature of the Polaris toward the Council, they send along a military escort for protection. The Polaris refuse the diplomatic mission entry into Polaris space, but the leader of the delegation decides to continue on instead. The Polaris view this as a precursor…

The Earthling’s Guide to www.AresCentral.com 6/20/00 documentation by Nathan Lamont COPYRIGHT©1999 NATHAN LAMONT AND AMBROSIA SOFTWARE a Bigger Planet production an Ambrosia Software, Inc. publication The Earthling’s Guide to Ares 1. OVERVIEW 1.1 WELCOME TO ARES Far into the future, after the Cantharan invasion and occupation of Earth, you strike a deal with a powerful, benevolent alien race, the Ishiman Protectorate. They offer you their advanced shipbuilding technology in exchange for your planned offensive strike to crush the ever-expanding Cantharan Order and its powerful allies. A decisive victory in your war to liberate Earth will come at a price: every lightyear will be bought with the blood of your kinsmen, and whatever liquid it is that pulses through the veins of your enemies. Ares is an exciting fusion of action and strategy, combining all the exciting elements of arcade-style action with the challenge of real-time strategy; the result is an exciting "hybrid" which requires both quick reflexes and skillful tactics. With huge, dynamically scaling sprites, and network play via AppleTalk or Internet, this game will bring hours of excitement to your Macintosh. Start with simple escort missions, and work your way up to planetary invasions. Capture and hold strategic points, or your victory will be more costly! Send a swarm of ships off to engulf the enemy, or sacrifice a lone fighter to draw them into a trap. No technique is too unconventional in your campaign to recapture your home planet. The challenge doesn't end with the defeat of the Cantharans. Two players can go head-to- head via AppleTalk or the Internet. Ares even sports integration with Scott Kevill's GameRanger service (a new feature in the Ambrosia version), so finding an opponent should be a snap. 1.2 INTRODUCTION Ares is a fusion of arcade action and real-time tactics. This unique combination requires a unique interface which is more involved ____________________________________________________________________________________ 2 …
