Fly! II Users Guide FLY! II USER MANUAL Hello—and welcome to Fly! version II. This electronic manual, the “Fly! version II User Guide,” is one of two electronic manuals you’ll receive, either on the distribution CDs for your copy of Fly! II or from the Fly! II website at www.iflytri.com. Providing these manuals electronically, rather than on paper, lets us keep them constantly up to date for the most current version of Fly! II. However, since they’re in the popular Adobe Acrobat format, feel free to print them out if you want a paper copy of your own. (You can download the latest version of the Acrobat reader/printer program for free from www.adobe.com.) Why two separate manuals? Because we really need to cover two completely different areas of subject matter. In this User Guide, I’ll detail how to operate the Fly! II simulation software package itself, but I’ll provide only minimal information about actually flying any of the aircraft. In the other manual, “How to Fly!,” I’ll hardly discuss the simulator at all, except to mention occasional handy key combinations. Why? Because Fly! II is so realistic, with every real-world control visible and operable on our super photorealistic panels, that it’s far easier and more appropriate to write just as if I were teaching in the actual aircraft, rather than in a simulator (as, in fact, I do in real life). Thus, if I write something like “set the Comm 1 radio to the tower frequency” or “use the prop control to reduce RPM,” I’ll assume that you’ll either simply “grab” the onscreen control with your mouse, use appropriately configured switches or buttons on your control stick or yoke (we’ll go over how to set those up shortly), or use the appropriate keyboard shortcuts. We’ll include a complete list of those in this first manual—just remember that real aircraft aren’t flown from keyboards, and it’s the realism of onscreen control that’s part of what makes Fly! II so realistic overall. Table Of Contents FLY! Flyghty 1.2 Help Brothers John *** FLYGHTY Title Window *** When you first open the Flyghty DEMO or PAID versions, the Title Window appears with several choice buttons. From left-to-right the buttons select: Screen – full screen resolution once you press PLAY (larger usually better) Controls – modify keyboard or mouse sensitivity vs. normal system settings Design -- start with Default airplane design (P36). You can change the body color to suit. Later, adjust the body length, engine power, and the areas of the wing(s), horizontal tail, and elevator. Design changes effect lift, thrust, weight and drag of plane. Bi-planes (two main wings) are typically more maneuverable but slower. Clicking Random gives you great variety, but some very poor flyers. Peaks – select height of mountain peaks surrounding main runway BUY – opens the KAGI-NostWare site to purchase Flighty for Win or Mac REG – when you receive Registration info via Email from KAGI, enter info to turn the DEMO into the PAID version Note: Turn your volume up midway to hear the plane sounds. On Win PCs, some keyboard volume controls cause Flyghty to quit in PLAY mode. PLAY – whenever ready, PLAY switches on the full-screen Flight Simulator. Pressing Esc or Q returns to the Title Window for changes, sound adjustment, quitting or optionally saving your score, plane design and other selections. *** FLYGHTY PLAY *** The DEMO version switches to full-screen with a screen overlay of Controls. You can try most Control Keys before procedding. A printable PDF version of Flyghty Controls can be downloaded at the site NostWare.com for easy ref. Some of the keyboard controls are toggles like the switch on a bedside lamp, press to turn on, press again to turn off: Try O then O (for Options where you choose your missions) C then C (reminds you of the Control definitions) G then G (landing gear extends and retracts) H then H (that's the hook for carrier landings later on) B then B (brakes on when B showing on panel) W then W (random head or tail winds with downdrafts) keep on W W W W W W W ... until you get a wind you like S then S (turns scoring off then back on, set to zero) when it's on, you'll get screen messages explaining scores P then P (pause for phone, coffee or meals then carry on again) Try G then G (if not quick enough ground contact occurs with damage?) Recover with O and <return> There's one more but use it later. T for Turbo power Other controls are in pairs, one to increase and one to decrease: Try PgUp and PgDn (to make the plane tiny and see more surroundings) leave the plane as large as possible then Try F and R (to set flaps at 10, 20 or 30 degrees) UpArrow and DnArrow (to alter elevators) push stick forward to dive by lowering elevators and vice versa Mouse up-down or track pad may be preferable RtArrow and LtArrow (to open or close throttle) Mouse …

FOLDERBOLT PRO™ RELEASE NOTES Version 1.0.3 Thank you for purchasing FolderBolt Pro. Before you begin using FolderBolt Pro, please read through this document. It contains important information about changes and additions to FolderBolt Pro after the User Guide was printed. Please back up your disk(s)/diskette(s) if you haven’t already. Then turn to the User Guide and read the first two chapters. For a “quick start,” just read page 14. In order to operate properly, FolderBolt Pro requires version 6.0.7 (from September, 1990) or newer of the Macintosh System Software. If you are using System 6, you will also need to have MultiFinder on in order for FolderBolt Pro to operate properly. FolderBolt Pro also works properly with all versions of System 7. If you have a version of the Macintosh System Software older than System 6.0.7, please consult your Macintosh reseller for an update. ◊ You may encounter an incompatibility with the System 7.5 Finder Scripting Extension and FolderBolt Pro. If so, simply move the file “Finder Scripting Extension” to the System Folder level so that it loads after the FolderBolt Pro Control Panel at startup time. ◊◊◊ VERSION 1.0.3 ADDITIONS ◊◊◊ ◊ Testing has revealed that in certain circumstances, Retrospect Remote can be over-cautious about backing up the contents of normally-bolted (programmatically - accessible) folders. If the FolderBolt Pro Installer detects Retrospect Remote installed in your System Folder, an extra Extension, called “Bolt Backup Enabler,” will be installed in your System Folder to assist Retrospect in backing up your machine at shutdown time. ◊ The FolderBolt Pro Installer now has the ability to detect certain Extensions that are known to cause conflicts with FolderBolt Pro and offer to relocate them to prevent the conflict. Version 1.0.3 only checks for the presence of the Finder Scripting Extension and offers to move it into the System Folder, where it will operate normally but will not conflict with FolderBolt Pro. ◊ A preference was added enabling you to control how remote folders are rebolted from the - 1 - desktop. This new preference is controlled through the General Preferences dialog box, which has consequently changed from that pictured in the manual. ◊ Errors encountered when performing network administration will be added to the FolderBolt Log file on the Macintosh the Administrator is running from. ◊◊◊ VERSION 1.0.2 ADDITIONS ◊◊◊ ◊ Improved system version checking for network administration. ◊ Improved error message handling in the Administrator’s Network Monitor window. ◊◊◊ VERSION 1.0.1 ADDITIONS ◊◊◊ ◊ If you are running on a Power Macintosh, the FolderBolt Pro Installer will install extra CryptoMactic encryption modules optimized for use on the Power Macintosh. In some of these modules, some animation options are not available, since their…

About Folder Compare Folder Compare allows you to, guess what, compare folders. The unique feature of Folder Compare is that it provides you with the means to Choose what you want to do with the differences. I personally do not trust automatic synchronization software much, because there is always a chance that: There are files that I do not want to copy. There can be many files in a folder that mean nothing. Like, if you are a developer, trying to copy the .xSYM files is slightly overkill; you can rebuild them by recompiling. If updating a System Folder, you probably do not want to copy your Web Browser cache. Nor all the system preference files, in fact. There are files which in fact, I'd like to Restore! It happens sometimes. I make a change I shouldn't have. In that case, I do not need to fish into a big folder to fetch the original; Folder Compare will show it to me in a second. They do not understand when I just Moved an item. Most utilities won't understand it. They will think that I removed it and created another with the same name elsewhere. Folder Compare detects that. http://www.pollet.net/FolderCompare/ …
