The iMac is a goner. I'll stick it in the bone pile until I decide weather to scrap it or keep it for parts.
I think I've decided to load the G3 up with Rhapsody.
I'm enjoying the last of the evening listening to some tunes on my G1 iPod I got recently...
Also managed to pick up a G3 iPod minus hard drive for $5 (then ordered a $10 drive) and a yoyo power adapter for my iBook finally. I bought the iBook off of Anonymous Freak who happens to have a rabbit with an appetite for Apple power so I've been looking for a yoyo for under $20 a while now. Found one for $15.

I dont know what it is about Apple branded wires and stuff, but my cats ONLY eat Apple cords. I had a macbook 2.4 for a while, and both the original charger and the replacement I bought both got eaten a little bit. That all stopped when whichever cat bit down on the wrong end of a Dell power cord (after I got rid of the macbook). They've never done it since
The Graphite? Somewhat curious to know what's wrong with it and also possibly the condition of the case plastics (my graphite is in almost perfect shape, but needs a lower case, or just the foot. Still debating whether it's even worth repairing it).
No, the 20" 2.16GHz C2D. I do have two working Graphite G3s, though.

Boots up fine and I put 128MB in there. Got to make sure I have the NI software off of it before I wipe it.

I don't get why everybody adores a tower like that. I have a 8200 and alltough it is my main system 7 workhorse I still don't like the tower design. The plastic is so brittle and brakes f easely
I thought the National Instruments GPIB NuBus card was a decent score. My brother got excited about using it with his Tek gear until he saw that it was NuBus.
A couple of updates -
A newly acquired IBM ThinkPad 560E has been successfully loaded with Openstep 4.3 and sports a 166MHz Pentium, 80MB RAM, TFT display, an original 2GB hard drive, an external floppy, an Adaptec SCSI card and a 3COM ethernet card in the PCMCIA slots. I like it. It feels a bit like a black iBook at 1" thick with a nice 12" screen (even though it's only 800x600). It gets filed into the "roots of Mac OS X" section of the collection
The 2007 Santa Rosa 15" MacBook Pro 2.4GHz that I picked in pieces for $60 is back together. I spent another $35 on a DC card and $115 on an LCD panel. Not bad for a total $210 investment, I guess. Internally it has 4GB RAM and a little 60GB SATA drive. If it proves stable in the next several weeks, I may look at sending my 13" 2008 MacBook on it's merry way.

I was able to pick a 450MHz PowerMac G4 Cube today with 1GB RAM, 30GB HDD, USB speakers, power supply, and right-angle VGA adapter for $75. Looks lovely with a 17" ADC monitor.
While I was out grabbing the Cube, I took a peek in the recycler's retail joint and picked up an Indigo iBook G3 Firewire. No hard drive, Airport card, power supply or cd tray cover but it was only $15. Does anyone have an Indigo CD tray cover they don't need?

Goodness me! A G4 cube WITH the speakers, power supply and original VGA adapter for $75? Very well done indeed.
Also, the Indigo was worth picking up in that condition for only $15 too.

See if you can find me some goodies in your area -- there's squat in my area. I need two 1.44 floppies that work and a M0116 keyboard that's in great condition (yellowed is fine). A programmer's switch for a Compact would be great.
The Indigo iBook G3 works great. I put an 80GB hard drive in it and replaced the CD-ROM with a DVD-R/W DL (overkill?

Small but cool - an Apple-branded joystick "for Apple IIe and Apple IIc" and a beige PowerMac G3 266Mhz.

I got to pick through a 5'x5'x5' box overflowing with vintage gear at NextStep Recycling in Eugene, OR today. It was full of stuff they were supposed to sort and put up on eBay. A few //c's, a ][+, some //e's, Classics, Imagewriters, Plusses, a Color Classic, a few Performas, a PowerCD with dock (no adapter). I got to the bottom and my heart skipped - a Lisa II. No keyboard or mouse. Did not power on. I offered a few hundred for it but they wouldn't sell off of eBay. 
I did manage to grab a nice //c with power supply, a DuoDock II and a PowerBook 100 series external floppy, though.

It's amazing to read such places to exsist. Wonder how much they were hoping for? Those Apple II's really really really... i want even one! Lisa II would have been really great, if i remember correctly, you did't have any so far?
Still, //c is good find, specially working, clean one. I am wondering if should pay 150€ for complete set of //c + monitor + external drive + original manuals and disks.
I am going today (haven't done this for years) one local recycling-shop (the largest of metropolitan area), but really, i do not expect to find *any* apple/macintoshes. I have a winter vacation so my 3.5 year daughter is coming with me, maybe can find some books or toys for her aleast if daddy wont find any toys for himself :lol:

Since the pile was going on ebay, they were looking up recent sold prices then giving me a price just under the lowest price they found. So they weren't very smoking deals but they were at least "fair". Using that pricing method, he gave me a $100 price on the ][+. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I already have a IIe, IIe Platinum and a IIgs.
Their organization is a non-profit that uses recycling or reselling electronics and other equipment to fund giving working computers to non-profits and low-income community members. They offer free computer classes. They allow people to volunteer at their centers to "earn" a computer. So they do some good. I don't feel bad about paying them a few more dollars than I would University surplus.
Yes, the Lisa would have been really great and no, I don't have one yet. Unfortunately, most are way too rich for me right now (even broken ones).
100 usd for Apple IIe... that's aint too bad! I've been looking one for ages here but no luck. One auction is been up for one IIe with monitor, two drives and printer (+ lots of software) for starting price for bids 299 euro. Don't know how much he wants for it.
I won a working G4 MDD (867mhz DP, 512MB, 60GB) for $37 shipped on ebay, should be here this week. After a few upgrades this will probably be the newest Mac I ever get (if I can't run OS 9 on it I don't want it).
Also got a Thinkpad T20 for something like $8 last week (it needed a HD) and a Thinkpad A30 a few days before that (needed an LCD transplant from a junker I had). P3 Thinkpads rock!

Man! Where do you guys find this stuff? I can't find ANYTHING older than a G3 or G4 around here. I've had my eyes glued to every site around here looking for a IIfx.

I'm an avid craigslist searcher and keep my feelers out to friends and acquaintances for hand-me-downs. That latest batch was bought at a HamFest I went to with my brother. I also have the bonus of weekly university surplus sales, electronics stores with surplus junk areas and local recyclers.
Well, I don't have a NexStation, but I do have one of those Panasonic portable CD-ROMs I could be convinced to part with. 
Actually, two... one with speakers and one without, though I only have one PCMCIA card.

Forgot to post that I picked up a $10 266MHZ Wallstreet II for parts last week. Seems to work alright but it has a bad LCD and a hole in every plastic piece due to a drop.
