Beautiful artwork on some of those disks. No one really bothers to do stuff like that any longer.

Bought an OSX 10.1 Puma in retail box for 10€, even per say, i'm not collector of original software but i am sucker for good-old-boxed software boxes if the price is right. Now i kind of need other OSX versions boxed too. Only have actually, if my memory serves me right, 10.3, 10.4 (server?), 10.5 retail box before, all others are cd/dvd's that came with the machine itself.

Includes everything as of:

-Mac OS X 10.1 (1Z691-3168-A)

-Mac OS X Developer Tools 10.1 (691-3169)

-Mac OS 9.2.1 Update CD (1Z691-3283-A)

And also including:

Mac OS X 10.1 Upgrade CD (1Z691-3184-A) extra upgrade cd from 10.0 to 10.1

All disks (expect those Mac OS 8 SDK disks) are imaged for safe keeping. Need to take them after i check all images work, to basement. Actually, only 1 disk refused to be read in full, "Apple Computer May 1994". I tried toothpaste, polishing etc but no dice. I guess i can live without that :lol:

Speaking of making disk images, i need to clean up and adjust those DISK ][ drives and if i'm lucky, some 5.25" disks i was given, could be saved up.

Finally got it! Oh man i feel stuped for not thinking of this.. The disks that came with the Apple ][+ (board: 8011) were written with DOS 3.2 (there even were one original disk DOS 3.2 among them!) with 13 Sector size..

DOS 3.2 - 16. Feb.1979-

DOS 3.2.1 - 31. July 1979

DOS 3.3 - 25. August 1980

So i booted up the DOS 3.3 and booted the 13 sector disk with Boot13, and voi'la. It booted up just fine.. so now can back those floppies up!

Ah, the first Larry Pina book. The disk should have the test patterns for adjusting the CRT properly. It's an amazing resource along with his second book, the Dead Mac Scrolls.

Picked an another book, an ex library book, for few euros, Business in Action: APPLE - macintosh - the computer that changed everything

Printed 1997 by William Gould, in English, 98 pages about the history of Apple and the products.

I picked up a copy of this book from Amazon about a year ago. I bought the cheapest used one available. It was described as not having the disk (I still don't have it) and it had writing in it. As long as all the pages were in it I didn't care. When I got it I didn't notice any writing in the sections I was reading at the time (the Apple Lisa parts) and it looked to be in good shape. A few months ago I started reading the Mac parts and found the writing. It was on the second page with an inscription to someone named Pete. Larry Pina had written him a note and signed it in 1997 A treasured yet working copy still.

Toronto Public Library has a copy of this book, it has a few nice pictures of some prototypes… Note the trackball on the cover.
