Hello all,

I've taken a picture of the affected area of the logic board (broken traces have now been repaired):

100_2866.JPG

I done some testing yesterday with the IIfx and SE/30 ROMs. When either of them are used in the IIci no chime or chimes of death are produced; the only sound heard from the speaker is a quiet pop.

Before the traces were fixed the IIfx and SE/30 ROMs did produced a chimes of death or a chime then chimes of death.

This seems like a step back!

What could cause a IIci to start-up without a Chime? I've tried different RAM SIMMs but that does not make to IIci work.

Uniserver,

When I leave the IIci on when attached to a monitor nothing comes on the screen.

I am interested in one of dougg3's ROM SIMMs. Maybe a stripped down version that just works as a IIci ROM?

I hope I'm not flogging a dead horse here!

Thanks

Dont give up hope. Its entirely fixable!

Hello all,

I've managed to buy a logic board on eBay for a reasonable price. I'll probably remove the capacitors off the old board and reuse them on the logic board that is coming from the US.

Thanks for all the help!
