If your willing to spend a bit more, you might want to try a snipe service, even for a couple more dollars to say, $80. It'll throw people off who bid in the last 10 seconds.

I'm going to raise the bid in the last two minutes myself. I'm going to bid something much much higher.

yeah pat has a point. people wait till the last few seconds to outbid you

And, it'll only raise the price if necessary, so in the end it for the better.

I'm going to bid $110, just in case.

May I be the first to say congrats and for a really good price too!

eBay isn't loading! I'm glad I know I won!

Cool man!

Yep, $68.75!

I'm going to go pick it up right now! :b&w:

i just bought a dual 500mhz g4 512mb ram/ 2x 36gb scsi hd's for $85
Good job

and Good job, MacTCP.

For not having to deal with shipping, that's a steal! Good work!

I picked it up. The seller was so drunk he could hardly speak! And it turns out that it's a Macintosh Server G4!

Can we see a link to the auction now since its over?

kinda funny the seller was drunk

You realize it has a blank hard drive, right? Do you have an OS CD?

It turns out that this is a Gigabit Ethernet Server with Dual 450mhz I think.

I had to reconnect the HD. It got unconnected somehow.

You've got it already? 8-o Did you sprint over there as soon as the auction ended or something?! :p

What OSes have you tried so far?

yeah its a gigabit ethernet g4, i can tell from the picture(not the extra small heatsink near the rear of the case.

Yes, and panther is installing right now.

Wow, now that's what I call keen! Was the seller surprised that you appeared as soon as the auction was closed?

He let me come because I called him.

Still, he must have been surprised that you wanted to come minutes after the end of the auction! Anyway, Panther must be nearly done now? (the one advantage of a G4 Mac over a G3: it doesn't take a week to get OS X to successfully install! :p )

Actually, I just started it. My monitor cable is so short that it took a lot of time

to get it to stay in. But now it started and it's going really fast. It has a huge speed difference from my old iBook G3.

*looks away* Don't say that!! iBook G3s feel really fast to me, and beige towers even faster, don't shatter my illusions and tell me that actually they're slow for Macs these days! :p ;)

My new iMac G3 seems plenty fast for a 6 year old machine.

Panther has been installed. It's really fast. It let me choose 2xxx x something as my resolution if I wanted, but everything above 1204 x 768 on this 20" Trinitron CRT is too tiny and morphed to possibly read.

man all this talk of everyones g3s and g4 seeming fast makes me think. sometimes i think my poor g5 is slow

yeah its a gigabit ethernet g4, i can tell from the picture(not the extra small heatsink near the rear of the case.
Is it agp?
