We have a thread on the badges, so we may as well have a thread on who is going to the expo.

1) Who is making the journey this year?
2) How long you staying?
3) This your first expo?
4) How early are you getting up for the keynote?
5) Is your work paying for it?
6) Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
7) How does that jello feel?

since I started this, I may as well answer too:

1) I think I am. Still figuring out the air travel (jumping from one airport to the next, no direct flights from here it seems).
2) Get there Sunday, leave Tuesday (i guess).
3) Yes.
4) How early should I get up? Like 5am?
5) Yes
6) I think we should. Maybe a place of lunch or something. I don't know the place, so someone more familiar with it will have to field this one.
7) Superb.

1) Who is making the journey this year?
not me I have to be back in Minnesota for school.
2) How long you staying?
n/a
3) This your first expo?
it would be my second if I was going
4) How early are you getting up for the keynote?
um, going to the keynote requires money
5) Is your work paying for it?
no, I use the various promotions that get you free exhibits only passes
6) Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
yes, definitely
7) How does that jello feel?
like a human brain, strangely enough
I really think MacNN should create an official web page for each Macworld Expo. The page would have:

-general information
-press information
-links to the picture galleries
-keynote updates
-a better way to coordinate forum members meeting
-anything else expo-related

Mixing it in with all the crap in this forum and others makes it really inefficient.

What do you think, demonhood?

[EDIT: I guess having threads in here that discuss issues like a meeting place are fine, but the central web page should have links to them so they don't get sucked into the forum void.]

1) Who is making the journey this year?
- Me and Cheerios
2) How long you staying?
- The day
3) This your first expo?
- sadly yup. Never knew there was anything for under a grand
4) How early are you getting up for the keynote?
- Probably going tuesday, can't afford Keynote and was told that is all you cold do monday.
5) Is your work paying for it?
- nope. Father! (hey, it's only $15
6) Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
- yup. Not sure where, maybe we should just do as us stoners do "macnn macnn macnn"
7) How does that jello feel?
- GREAT!
1. yes
2. Just 1 day. Are the exhibits open on Monday? It they are not then I'll go on Tuesday.
3. This will be my 2nd expo. My first was last year's MWSF when the Ti books were introduced. That was awesome.
4. I couldn't afford to attend the keynote.
5. I got my exhibit pass for free. I registered before Oct. 15th.
6. Hell yeah! We should meet in the south building at the tables near the "ask the mac experts." Last year they had imacs hooked up to the internet. We could post on to the forums from there...that is if the server doesn't crash from all of the traffic it receives that day.
7. What jello?
I thnk I'll be there from the 6th-8th. I'll be wearing my "Ruddigger" shirt, and cruising the floor, so look for me.
{bump}

Anybody else going now that apple says "this is going to be big"?

I've made my flight/hotel arrangements so I'll see you all there. I'll whip up some MacNN nametags or something too. Or maybe I'll just steal the one that AlbertWu made in another thread
Good idea 'hood. I'll be there 7th-9th now, I had a change of plans...
Ok, so far we have:
  • myself
    Demonhood
    Cheerios
    Juan
    Ruddigger

That's it! Come on, there has to be more than just five of us attending. This macworld is suppose to be a real big one.
1) Who is making the journey this year?
Only to my local Apple facility in Reston, VA.
2) How long you staying?
2 1/2 hrs or until Steve walks off stage
3) This your first expo?
Not my first keynote (never attended live)
4) How early are you getting up for the keynote?
I'm getting out of school an hur early.
5) Is your work paying for it?
It's free!
6) Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
Yes
7) How does that jello feel?
Fantastico!
Okay, were now going on Thursday because my dad wants to check out the "Backing, Archiving and File transfers for Mac OS X".

BTW are the passes good for the whole expo or just a single day?
You can use your Exhibit pass throughout the whole week. Monday is the only exception (keynote only).

Cool. Cheerios and I could then show up if people are not available on Thursday
I'm going to the keynote on Monday and then I'll be strolling the floor on Tuesday. I felt guilty about letting my work pay for the whole thing (even though it is work related) so I'm not going to stay the whole week. But hey, party in my $200 a night hotel room!
I won't be there, but I'm not scheduleing any jobs that day, loading up on some food and root beer, grab my trusty can of Copenhagon, clearing my office of people, and streaming'er in on my cable. I'm so excited. And my birthday is Jan. 10th, wonder what I should get?

What hotel?
Didn't I already start one of these?
I wish I was going but if I were I'd be bringing the booze

So who's bringing the women?

Mike
Unfortunately my learjet is being tuned, so I will have to excuse myself from this january's expo.

(I am *not* travelling commercial!)
1. Who is making the journey this year?
I am making the journey! All the way across the bay! Could they have made it any farther?!

2. How long you staying?
I'll be at the exhibits on Tuesday... until I get bored. I'll probably come back the next day, or the day after, or the day after that.

3. This your first expo?
Nope, second!

4. How early are you getting up for the keynote?
Getting up? The real question should be how late am I staying up after I've seen the keynote.

5. Is your work paying for it?
Nope... I'm a college student, I'm getting in on the free exhibits only pass. I seem to remember reading about someone sneaking into past keynotes though... mb I'll give that a try .

6. Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
Sure thing. Ooh! Is madra coming ? I'd love to see the hair irl.

7. How does that jello feel?
[homer]mmmm... jello...[/homer]
Greetings,

There is a chance that I will be there on Tuesday. I've wanted to go for about the past 5 years but I've always been In Germany at that time. This year might be different.

It takes me only 45 minutes to get there so I might attend more than one day if it's very interesting.

No live keynote unless someone is very generous to me.

I'll probably be the only guy there with the name Jocelyn, so, if any of you see me, please say hello.

Have fun!
1) Who is making the journey this year?
Yeah, I guess two stops on MUNI could be called a journey :o
2) How long you staying?
I plan on staying in San Francisco for quite some time staying in MW? I dunno... until I get bored.
3) This your first expo?
Fifth I think... kind of lost count
4) How early are you getting up for the keynote?
I'll watch it in the computer lab at my first free period - gives me something to look forward to during class
5) Is your work paying for it?
N/A
6) Should we organize a meeting place for all us MacNN geeks to congregate and gawk at one another?
Tell me where it's at! I'll be sure to bring my brass knuckles.
7) How does that jello feel?
Not too shabby!

Who the hell flies commercial anymore? And a LearJet? Please! They don't even have a bathroom! Get a G5!!
1) My 2 brothers, 2 friends, my Chemistry Professor, and I
2) Just for the day, I live in San Jose.
3) Nope.
4) I'll just watch the rebroadcast when I get there.
5) No, my friend's is.
6) There's so many Mac geeks there, it'd be hard to find one another.
7) Like waaaarm apple pie.
Not sure when I'll be there, but I'll be there at least one day. They usually buy a few badges and pass them around during the week at work. It's a BART stop or two away, so pretty convenient. Yay.

La Honda... is that in the hills, along Skyline, or am I thinking of something else?

Jello? As in Biafra?

That sounds about right... it's on 84, bit off the coast, bit past Sky Londa. Weird names you coastal people have!

Oh right, 84. Very pretty drive, that is.

Yes, we're a strange bunch.
