Next Icon Set. Any Piexelpalooza entries?
So I think I might have a good idea for my next icon set, which I'm also thinking I might enter in the Pixelpalooza contest. My GF said to bring it to the boards for suggestions and thoughts. I get good feddback in the lounge, so here goes.
Since the majority of my sets have been video game-related, I figured I could do one more without infringing on any copyrights and enter the contest. I was thinking, how about a set called Gamer's Life, that featured icons related to all the equipment gamer's need to set up game systems.
Lame, maybe.
You know, RF switches, AC adapters, AV cables.... It could be cool.
Well, post thoughts. And here's the RF switch.

No copyright material is allowed anymore.
.
i myself would like to see a full icon set of harddrives, folders, etc from you MindFad. that would be awesome since your icons rock!
I dunno, I always like icond that I can use on something on my computer, I don't know how I can use an RF adapter though.
You could add some gaming stuffs such as joystick, general game controller (use copyright-less one or create your own layout), top view of the plug hole such as s-video, RGB output, etc etc.
I'll be entering Pixelapalooza>Candybar but nothing too big or fancy. It'd be just an updated version of Industech with several new icons and some icons removed (ie: finder, any other copyright stuffs). There's always next year for new icon set. Time's getting faster and free time is getting shorter

I still need a GOOD Home directory set. You can do this, I know you can.
Well, I guess I'll go with this idea. I need at least 10 to enter. I kinda don't have a ton of time to put into them, but I'll try for the minimum.
Next year I'll get serious and come up with a better idea.
I'm sure someone can find a use for this odd set. It's more of the idea I'm going for that the judges might like. Meh. Back to work.

Looks nice, but needs the A/B slider switch. I can' t wait to see the rest of this set

You gotta make an old school Atari joystick, with the rubber cover coming off
(or make it similiar, if there's copyright issues)

Ah, screw copyright issues
. Make one with and without the rubber/paint peeling
. Maybe even an Atari cart. Check atari-age.com for fonts.Of course, if you're going to do Atari, you might as well do ColecoVision, Intellivision, Coleco Telstar, Pong, Odyssey 2, etc.

What are the colors again for the prgressive scan cables you can use with the GC, Xbox, etc.? Like a light aquaish and green, right? I'm going to try and do them next, as well as the S-Video connector -- I need to find a real good cloesup shot of that to see the pins inside. And the old coaxial cord-end, too.

Definitely considering doing this gamer set in volumes. This one won't have any copyright stuff in it, but I do plan on doing another volume later on, which will include a lot of the suggestions here.
I'm an old-time gamer like most of ya. Well, late Atari 2600 days. Born in '81 -- caught it just in time.

and thats ALL photoshop? like. no other programs whatsoever? you started with a blank sheet and 2 hours later you had that?
youre ****ed. i mean that in a nice way.
Re: atari controllers without the rubber thing - that rubber thign sucked.
No offence, but I find the idea very lame..
Do something more original..
I mean PixelPalooza is the time to do something really big.
I hope this helps..

Yeah, scaught, all Photoshop -- from blank to that (well, I unplugged my GC and looked at the cord, of course). About an hour and forty minutes. Complete in a two-hour period where I was on the phone a few times, so I figure not quite two hours. It was done large scale first.
Generic controllers sound good, though.
I haven't seen a set like this, so I thought it might be original. And it was just a thought to enter Pixelpalooza. I don't have time really to set out and plan a super awesome orginal idea for a set, since they need to be received for Pixelpalooza by the end of this month. Next year I'll try for something cooler; I'll make the time for it. But too busy right now. What would you consider more original, Ambush? (I'm not trying to shoot big.)
That was just as helpful as some of the other Canadian's posts (kidding).
