Yeah, scaught, all Photoshop -- from blank to that (well, I unplugged my GC and looked at the cord, of course). About an hour and forty minutes. Complete in a two-hour period where I was on the phone a few times, so I figure not quite two hours. It was done large scale first.

Generic controllers sound good, though.

I haven't seen a set like this, so I thought it might be original. And it was just a thought to enter Pixelpalooza. I don't have time really to set out and plan a super awesome orginal idea for a set, since they need to be received for Pixelpalooza by the end of this month. Next year I'll try for something cooler; I'll make the time for it. But too busy right now. What would you consider more original, Ambush? (I'm not trying to shoot big.) That was just as helpful as some of the other Canadian's posts (kidding).

I liked last year's Japan set thingy.. like with Asian icons there.. very nice...

It's more about illustration skills I think, after all.. I mean.. you can probably win the first prize with your video games accesories idea...

Go ahead man, I'm sure you can win something if you want

rock on

Thanks. I shall commence with the rocking on. I'll do some fancy folders one day.

Ambush, I don't think these icons show a lack of illustration skills, if that's what you were implying, or if I took it wrong. I could turn many of my drawings and characters into icons, but ... meh. I think more people will enjoy a set like this more, and I'm not trying to win Pixelpalooza with this, that's for sure. A "cool icons, thanks!" is just fine. Though an iPod would be cool.

I must shed the game freak image, too. My GF was right. An entire portfolio of game icons says a lot, huh? I am what I am.

Edit: Oooh, I found some sweet coaxial and s-video cable photos to work from. Kick ass. I wasn't sure how s-video pins looked.
Hey Mindfad,
The other day I was strollin through the ol workplace and I happened to be in someones office- they had a desktop full of your icons. (Nintendo set) Just for the sheer heck of it I asked where the person got them- they showed me the xicons site. (I guessed that was where they got them, but just wanted to see what the person said).

It must be cool to create something and have all sorts of random people around the globe using your creations on their desktops!

Keep up the great work!
That's awesome! Yeah, I get a good bit of fan mail about them. I'm really glad it struck a chord with so many folks -- I see quite a few screenshots with my icons in them. Very cool! The Nintendo dorks have united.
Coaxial cable. S-video next.

now that is a chode

nice work
cool. mr. fad rocks my a/v world.
i LIKE the AV set.

i dont know what id use it for, but i like it just the same.

Meanwhile I hack away with IconBuilder Pro. Check out what I made yesterday (for my own amusement. Ahem... ).

I even made a road desktop for them. They let me do lots of stuff at the asylum.
!! Awesome. Where can I get those, or aren't they released yet? Oh man, memories.

In the asylum, eh? Aren't you a few doors down from Star Wars Dude? Or ... wait, does he have more than one room, considering ... ya know? Anyway, keep up the good work.
S-video.

Drop me a line -- we'll chat. [/cool-like mobster] What kind of track graphics?
Awsome stuff!

Ideas for other things:

Beanbag chair? Comfy chair? something gamers sit in.

Soda cans?

Generic TV? (Old POS and uber-Huge New one)

Hmm, wow this is kinda hard

I cant believe I am looking at CABLES thinking to myself "wow those are really cool."

not to be picky but i belive you are missing some pins in there.

BTW great stuff man keep it up
What pins? Those are the pins that I saw in the picture. 6 of 'em. Maybe it's the angle? If it is wrong, I will fix it.
