'Pro War Americans' you are getting on my nerve Troubleshooting 50 posts Mar 28, 2003 — Mar 29, 2003
Some of you are getting satisfaction from this war. Some of you WANT to find the evilness in your enemy.

What we should want, is not the best possible outcome for our side, or the enemy, we should want the best possible outcome for humanity.

Some people are just making me sick with their ramblings about yipee proof about association with Al-Qaida, yippee enemy stuffed up and fired missiles on it's own civilians. That is the wrong approach to take. Every human life is as valuable as another, unless that life is responsible for other lives.

Agreed. It scares me how some here seem to love this war. They are so happy when SHs thugs do some horrible acts because that is "more" justification for going into Iraq. Every bomb we see on TV seem to increase the bloodflow to certain areas of their bodies. And then the call some have made for dropping the MOAB, WTF???

It is OK to support the troops, it is OK to support your government, but it is not OK to be happy there is a war and civilians being killed.

Get a hold on yourselves!
Yes. There are those who are brainwashed about the illusions of war on all sides.

It's not OK to twist people's words to stroke your political stance.

Since when are anyone but pro-saddam regime people encoraging blood shed? THe point pro-war people are making is that we should do everything possible to eliminate the chances on this being taken to civilians. Saddam has proved he will kill his own and make it look like the US did it. He did that back in 91, and has done so again.

The point people make about the MOAB is that if it can be used to eliminate resistance (away from civilians) it should be used, rather than small arms combat, and to reduce the risk of them using dirty weapons.

AFAIK nobody has really been advocating blood, but has been pushing for this to end quickly.

Seeing Saddams thugs "do some horrible acts" just proves the reason why we are there... and motivation to continue. It's hard as soldier to fight a "might be" evil. But a "definate evil" changes the heart. The fact Saddam did that shows we need to continue. It shows there is a purpose to this. It shows that despite the risks, we are continuing to help Iraq liberate itself, and form a new government.
I am anti-war but now that we're in, lets carpet bomb Iraq back to the stone age and get out of there!
Some of you get your satisfaction from preserving the status quo. Some of you don't WANT to even know about, let alone FACE evil that exists in the world.

What you seem to want is not the best possible outcome for our side, or the Iraqis, you want to preseve the status quo that you've become confortable with. Let them suffer, so you can feel at peace.

Some people are HAPPY that it makes you sick that your status quo won't be preseved by the few with the resolve to stand up and say ENOUGH.

That's always been the way.
I just get tired of all the "proud american" (usually conservative) types who say you are a Saddam supporter if you protest the war. I laugh out loud every time I hear the phrase "anti-war protester" - an oxymoron when used by a war supporter. People who protest the war are war protesters (duh). People who don't agree with that take are the actual 'anti-war protesters'. Yet you will hear it misused daily on the news and every couple of minutes on conservative talk radio. It really will make you laugh when you realize they are bashing themselves unwittingly.

AMEN!

It's worth repeating:
Some of you don't WANT to even know about, let alone FACE evil that exists in the world.

I know, I wish I had never listened to Rush Limbaugh.

and what if George Bush is a greater danger to the world than Saddam?

if so, then YOU would not be facing it...right?

You know what REALLY cracks me up Mastrap. You call my thread about some French destorying a statue a troll, but you think this thread is legit.

Had I posted this, but about anti-war people, I would have gotten flamed right and left. And you'd be right in the middle of it.

So, unless you want to be called out as a hypocrite, I suggest you think before you hit the submit button.

I never said that. I am calling your response trollish, that's all.

Stop putting words into my mouth please.

I am not putting words in your mouth. I am talking about your actions. Or in this thread, lack of. You are quick to call the troll out on anyone for this war, but anyone against it, can be trollish to you, and that is ok?

Seems to me, it's not about being trollish to you, but you just don't want to hear any opposition of what you beleive in.

So whats the deal Mastrap? Are you selectively labeling people just because they have different opinions than you?

I mean this thread is one of the most OBVIOUS trollings that has went on in this forum since it was put up a few days ago, and you aren't jumping to lable someone a troll?

So you calling undotwa a "crybaby" isn't selectively labeling him because he has a different opinion than you?

It's rude, it's insulting, it's immature and it's the work of a troll.

Anyway, I don't want to totally derail this thread, if you feel you want or need to respond please use PM.

No I am calling him that because he felt the need to tell us "Pro War" people, that we are getting on his nerves. It was obviously a trolling. Had I posted this, but said the opposite, the mods emails would be flooded with complaints. And yes, I would be called worse than a crybaby. And yes, I truely believe if someone is getting on another person's nerves, just because they disagree with them on issues, they are indeed being crybabies.

And his post wasn't? Why aren't you attacking him for being rude, and insulting, and immature for posting this? More selective "parenting" Mastrap?

No, I will respond to it in here. Maybe next time you'll think twice before trying to "correct" me in every thread I post.

I would have more respect for your comments Mastrap, if you weren't so hypocritical and one sided about them.

It's mostly political. If Bush came up with a plan to save the ozone layer, they would find SOMETHING wrong with it, and claim he wants the Ozone layer for his selfish needs! And would try and block him from saving it. Just because he is GW.
You forgot to blame the French!

What is PM for then? You can be so immature sometime

Anyway, back on the topic...

undotwa, I agree but I bet most of the influence come from the media. They like to make small thing BIG.

I don't know anyone that wanted war. Nobody. Not even my "warmonger" friends in the service. Everyone I know wants this over with as soon as possible.

If you're going to get angry, I suggest you jump on the appeasers and peacenik types, and those who have decided to use the war for political propaganda. Those folks make it necessary to look for and highlight the Al Queda connection, the WMDs, the war crimes, and other stuff. There's your target.

The folks who've decided to use this war for politics need to be stoned in the streets.

Yep. Mass denial.

As for "anti-war protesters" and supporting the troops -- pick one. You can't tell someone who believes in this and the value of human life (the troops) enough to put their life on the line for the US that your rhetoric and "die ins" are in alignment with their values. It just doesn't fit. Take your pick, support the troops or protest the war.

In response to the folks talking about conservative talk radio, I don't know how you have enough time to keep tabs on those shows and what they're saying. It seems, though, that quite a few of the folks on the Left have decided to listen to talk radio -- maybe that's where they're getting their ideas about American opinion, and maybe that's why they're so touchy and defensive lately. I wish I had that much time to spend listening to the radio, though.

I thought we were protecting (liberating) the poeple of Iraq from this type of behavior.

I pick anti-war. How ****ing hard is it to realize anti-war isn't pro-saddam. No blood is no blood. The anti-war folks don't want american casualties, we don't want collateral damage. We don't want death. All avenues haven't been exhausted. Let's find a peaceful solution to this. Anti-war isn't anti-American...

You said all of this looking in the mirror, right?
We have managed to keep out of going to war with Cuba for what - 40 years? Fidel may not be AS BAD as Saddam but he is still a communist dictator who mistreats his people. And only 90 miles away from our shore.
