No DVD's In Package
Bought Pirates of the Carribean from Blockbuster Video for my wife as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. We finally opened it up yesterday to watch it and found no DVD's inside!
The first thing out of my mouth was they will never believe us followed by $#%&$!!!!
Called a salesperson at the Blockbuster I bought it from and he asked if I had a receipt. Don't know where it is, told him I could show him my Visa statement when it comes in, can't he find it on his computer/register, yada yada...
I asked why they couldn't take it and give me another since they would just send it in and get another anyway. Well, he basically began to call me a liar and that he would have no way of knowing if I got it from his store, Best Buy, etc. He went on to say that I should go on the internet and file a complaint with the manufacturer. (Disney no less!)
Since I was in ear shot of my kids, I had to watch my language. We got a little heated and he told me that the phone call was being recorded and that his managers were listening in. After talking to an assistant manager and the main store manager today, this obviously was a lie.
Anyway, ended up calling a different Blockbuster, they told me to come right on in and they would be glad to take care of me.
Learned that anytime you buy a video from Blockbuster you should buy it on your account (if you have one at that store) so that they can easily find your purchase in their computer. Otherwise, you need a receipt.
The movie was better than I thought although a little long. No bad language so it was good for the kids as well.

Ummm... so the lesson should be, "save your receipt" right?
Thought so
No offense, but it is not the store's responsibility to track your purchases.
Obviously, it wouldn't be worth the hassle to call up because of a lie. It happened and you happened to get the biggest a$$hole on the other end. Calling another store was the wise thing to do.
I once bought some shaver refill blades for a rotary norelco. The packaged had been carefully opened, resealed, and the blades were open, used and DIRTY!
. I returned them to Kmart with no hassle. Now, the packages are quadruple riveted shut, heat sealed in plastic, and sealed with another plastic layer by Norelco. This must be a common problem.

I tried to return some Christmas lights we didn't use to Lowe's last weekend. I was told that even though I had a receipt and the packages were obviously unopened, store poloicy was no returns on Christmas items after Christmas. When I tried to speak with a manager and point out to him that this policy was not printed on my receipt or posted anywhere in the store he just replied "It doesn't have to be. That's just the way it is" and walked away. It was only a matter of about $25 and usually I wouldn't worry about it but his attitude bothered me so I sent an email to corporate management that night and 1st thing Monday morning I recieved a phone call from the store manager apologizing and offering me a full refund. Sometimes it pays to be assertive and a bit of a pain in the a$$ to get what you know is coming to you.
Yeah, saving receipts can be a great help sometimes.
Just get a basket or a folder to toss em all in once you get home.

Yeah, usually do keep the receipts. Bought it with a credit card so that is an easy one to find.
We were mostly shocked that the package was empty. My son has seen forums with this happening on XBox games lately.
