GASOFT Custom Maps 1 is a freeware add-on pack from Gasoft (gasoft@netexplora.com) collecting custom maps for two late-1990s Impressions/Firefly city-builders ported to the Mac: Sierra's Caesar III and Stronghold. It is a content pack rather than a game; you need a working installation of either parent title to play the included scenarios.
What the pack adds
The download is a small bundle of map and scenario files dropped into the appropriate Caesar III or Stronghold scenarios folder so they appear in the game's custom-map browser. Each map is a complete handcrafted level - terrain, starting conditions, and victory triggers - intended to extend the parent games beyond their built-in campaigns.
Two parent games
Caesar III (Impressions/Sierra, 1998) is the Roman city-builder where you raise insulae, plebs, and centuriae from a frontier settlement to a provincial capital; Stronghold (Firefly, 2001) is the medieval castle-builder and siege game. Gasoft's pack sits atop both, treating the file as a single "Mac shareware contributor's custom map dump" rather than maintaining separate per-game releases.
Distribution
Preserved on Info-Mac as gasoft-custom-maps.hqx (about 3.9 MB BinHex) under info-mac/game/com (the "commercial-game add-ons" subtree), filed alongside other fan content for retail Mac titles. The package is freeware; install only after you have the relevant parent game installed and patched.
