The Ghost Of Wolfaddict is a fan-made scenario for the Macintosh port of Wolfenstein 3D, distributed through the Mac modding community that grew up around id Software's pioneering shooter. It uses the Third Encounter map format that Mac Wolfenstein supported natively, allowing player-built episodes to drop straight into the game.
A WolfAddict Tribute
The title nods to WolfAddict Software, the loose collective of Mac Wolfenstein designers (notably Laz Rojas) who released a steady stream of commercial and freeware scenarios in the late 1990s. The "Ghost" framing positions this scenario as an homage or memorial pack within that lineage.
Plays Inside Mac Wolfenstein 3D
Like other Third Encounter scenarios, the file is loaded by the Mac Wolfenstein 3D engine itself rather than running as a standalone game. Players need a working copy of Mac Wolfenstein 3D, then drop the scenario file into the appropriate folder to launch its custom maps.
Part of the Mac Wolf Archive
The scenario survives today thanks to community archives such as Macintosh Garden and Dermuda's Mac Wolfenstein 3D Archive, which gather hundreds of fan maps that would otherwise have vanished with their original BBS and personal-page hosts.
Heritage and Compatibility
Mac Wolfenstein 3D ran on 68k and PowerPC machines under System 7 through Mac OS 9. Modern players typically reach scenarios like this one through emulation (SheepShaver, Mini vMac) or via the MacenWolf source port, which re-implements the Mac engine on contemporary systems.
